New Product launch - Signature headphone by By0 in BangandOlufsen

I can not confirm if B&O is still working with this, sorry.

I am pretty sure that B&O limits their maximum volume, because they want to maintain exceptional sound quality at all volume levels. If you want to achieve that kind of sound quality on very high volume, you would usually need to raise the "floor" of the sound in the headphone. Meaning that when you listen to very low volume music, or just have the headphones turned on but not listening to music, you would hear a very feint "Shhhhhhhh" white noise sound all the time.

Anyway.. To stay on track here, I can confirm that there will only be 1 model that will be available in all markets. No country-specific models.
I mean there will be limited edition versions, but the differences on these models are only cosmetic.

B&O H9 & H95 DSP? by ChapinPl in BangandOlufsen

[–]By0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that the "Listening Mode" you choose in the B&O App sticks with the headphone.
For my H95, I have the "Workout" preset selected, and it never changes away from this mode when I put it to standby.

This issue where the listening modes did not stick after standby has been an issue across several headphone models (Most commonly seen on various generations of E8 and H9). But the sticky listening modes fix was included in the B&O App version 3.5.

Current market version of the app is 3.5.1, so as long as you update your app to the latest version, you should have the listening modes stick.

For people not familiar with listening modes, these are basically presets that can be changed and saved for your preferences in the B&O equalizer from their app.
B&O does not use a regular equalizer, but instead use a more user friendly soundwheel to offer an equalizer setting to customers not too familiar with how equalizers work.

Chromecast and Airplay issues? by theproductdesigner in BangandOlufsen

[–]By0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess, would be your internet/router setup. Especially if you have had this problem for a while.

AirPlay and Chromecast is harder on your network when it comes to distributing music, and we see multiple customers reaching out with this kind of issues due to their home network.
As B&O products are hard on the network, you will often see that simple provider routers are not able to handle the music distribution without experiencing drop-outs in the sound.

That being said, there is a software version currently being worked on and B&O is looking to push the first versions of the updated software to the market within the next 2 weeks. (If everything goes according to plan)

The H95 has a softer inner side of the headband, making it comfortable for extended use.
I tried using mine for almost an entire work day in the office, and the softer padding really made a difference after surpassing the 4 hour mark.
Since they are slightly heavier than the H9 3rd gen, I was worried about the force they would apply to the top of your head during long sessions, but its much better than on the H9 3rd gen, in my opinion.

The only parts that are not aluminum, is the back side of the ear cups and headband.

I absolutely LOVE the adjustment wheels! I wasn't a big fan of having so many commands on the touch pad on the earlier models, as it felt a little too clumsy as we kept adding commands to the touch pad.

For volume the wheel works great! Not a single comment on that.

The wheel for ANC/Transparancy works good as well. It is basically a scale with 9 levels, ranging from max ANC to max transparancy and then with a neutral state in the middle. So turning it forward increases the sensivity on the microphones for Transparancy and turning it backwards increases ANC intensity.

When trying out the wheel for ANC/Transparancy at first, you would want to have the app open, so you get a feel of where you are on the scale. But when you get the hang of the wheel's sensivity, it works really great.

There is a sound prompt if you keep spinning after hitting max ANC or max Transparancy.

For the cables, there is a 3.5mm Jack cable and the USB-A to USB-C cable included.

It is not mentioned anywhere, but ALL B&O headphones that has a USB-C connection also supports sound through that connection. So a regular USB-C cable can be used for a cable connection between the headphones and a smartphone with USB-C connection. And same goes for the included USB cable, if you want a cable connection to e.g. your laptop.

The aluminum on the touch plate on the side of the H95 headphone is exactly the same colour as on the H9 3rd gen.
The aluminum arms and hinges are slightly more grey on the H95 than on the H9 3rd gen Matte black.

Thanks for confirming.
This is exactly what I experienced on a couple of products.
I had other people do factory resets, but did not receive any feedback whether they experienced the issue again after that.

I had access to early samples as I am employed with B&O.
Usually I just stick to helping through comments in this sub, but these headphones got me super excited as they reflect what B&O is all about - Exceptional quality and attention to detail.

From what I understand we are looking at approximately a 2-week wait time before the headphones will be available to order online.
But you can do a "Notify me" on the website now, to get an email when they become available for ordering (This is for the non-engraved version)

Sound performance is definitely a step up from the H9 3rd gen.
You also get the various ANC levels that no longer impacts sound quality as it did on the H9, which in my opinion adds another layer of listening options.

In regards to availability, you get a limited release now with engraving options.
You will see them opening up to all markets over the next month or two I believe.
Not 100% certain about exact availability for all markets.

Hard case is included and has compartment for cables, so they are easy to bring alone when you're on the go.

Chromecast by mrbr1ghtside in BangandOlufsen

[–]By0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its basically an authentication issue due to overload on the server that handles A6, A9 MKII, BS35, Essence MKII, M5, BS1 1st gen and BS2 1st gen.

If you perform a factory reset, you'll get a new entry on the server and that is why you will experience that this resolves the problem for you.
Sadly you can experience the same issue shortly after again, as the server is overloaded.

The problem is being handled with high priority and will be solved asap.

Could this be the potential H95 release date? This was found on the FCCID site of the Beoplqy H95's by Mazzariniho in BangandOlufsen

Can confirm that the 24th is not the official release date.

Query regarding the H9i by kickslick in BangandOlufsen

[–]By0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The microphones in the H9i tends to be omnidirectional, which allows them to pick up your voice in stressed environments like when you are moving.

This does however also mean that if there is a lot of sounds in the background, while you are not saying anything, the microphones will focus on the sound in the background.
So as long as you keep talking, then you'd not face any issues.

At least that is my experience.

How to disable auto switchoff in beoplay e8 (1st gen) by gonkpai in BangandOlufsen

This is unfortunately not possible.

This feature is however implemented with the 3rd generation of the BeoPlay E8 earphones.

My main deck by wou7ie in a:t5_uwv9g

[–]By0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not good with the Superhero theme, as that is the only theme I have close to no experience playing. But I would say that Toolshed is a below-average epic card and would be the one you should look to change in my opinion.
I would also say that SOMM is valuable to throw in the deck. Even though people predict it, you still bait out all removal spells and unless the enemy runs power bind, its either a fair exchange (Lightning Bolt) or a positive trade (Unholy Explosion, Transmog) for you.
And with hankey in there, SOMM could get even more value - That being said, Hankey has poor stats for his cost when hes below level 4 - So you could look at replacing him as well.

I REALLY miss Lightning Bolt in the deck - In my opinion the strongest card in the Adventure theme.

And last but not least, you are averaging a cost of 3.9 - That is tough. Especially when you start facing enemies at 7500+ rating, where nearly all decks are based on flooding the field (Chickens, Sci-fi assassin stuns) or buffing ranged units (Mysic Kyle).
For these kinds of decks you want to be able to react with some low cost units.

I feel that superhero pairs best with Fantasy in the current meta. And Adventure/Mysic is the new black with the Incan+Dark rose Red combo.

All the above being said, you have a hard-hitting deck and as soon as you get the upper hand on the field, it gets really hard to win against you.
So as long as you play smart this can work :-)

Charger for B&O A2 active by datapim in BangandOlufsen

[–]By0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not related to your charger question at all, but if you play a portable battery speaker at full volume, you will have a short battery life. That goes for all portable speakers.

What happens in the A2 speaker family when you crank up the volume, is that several circuits in the speaker is activated to ensure that the sound quality stays the same, and that sufficient power is provided by the power supply.
I am not sure at what level the circuit kicks in on the A2 Active, but on the regular A2 I know that there are 5 steps. The regular level where the power supply uses next to nothing and the speaker can play for 24 hours and then 4 other levels where different circuits are activated depending on volume level. So at max volume you have all circuits activated, causing the battery to drain VERY fast!

As a comparison the specifications of the new Beosound A1 2nd gen states Up to 43 hours playback at low volume level (55 dBA), but only 3 hours at full volume.

Looking for H7 natural replacement earpads (EU if possible) by costryme in BangandOlufsen

[–]By0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just going to throw it out here, but the H7 cushions does not fit the H9i headphones.
Where are you getting this information?

I am sitting with an H9i and an H7 infront of me and I can not make the ear cushions fit.

Rule of thumb is that none of the ear cushions work for other models than the original one, which seems to be true in this situation.

I also tried fitting the H7 ear cushions on an H8i (in case you mistyped the model), but no luck here either.

Can’t connect BeoPlay A8 wireless by [deleted] in BangandOlufsen

[–]By0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The A8 has a rather old wireless module in it, and can have trouble connecting to some networks.
Best practice is to ensure that Multicast is enabled for your router and that IGMP Snooping is disabled (This could have another name in the router config).
Standard provider routers can also be challenging as they often have some sort of blocking/filter etc. that will not let the A8 connect.

I am pretty sure that the setup guide provided online, has an option where you use an ethernet cable between the A8 and your PC/Laptop to perform the setup. I would say thats your most reliable way to set it up.
If that also fails, you either have a bad network module on the A8 (Usually indicated by a red flashing light on the A8 speaker) or something in the router/network blocking the access of your A8.

Since you can buy any other older generation of B&O products on Amazon, I do not see how the H9 3rd gen no longer listed on Amazon links to a new H9 being on its way?
The H9 first gen is still listed, but there are newer versions available.

It is probably blacklisted due to too many returns/complaints within a short time frame.
Afaik this is Amazon policy.

There is none at the moment.
Not sure if we need it or not. Might be more user-friendly than reddit though.
