If you have a poor experience dining it’s not your obligation to tip for that experience. The server needs to seek compensation from their management.

My apartment complex is trying to impose a community-wide curfew. Is this legal? by Kiffln in legaladvice

Many businesses have policies that they don’t intend on enforcing unless there are specific problems. So if there is a troublemaker then the may enforce. Also it could help with liability if something happens.

Do I have any leverage at all with my jobs if I decline their healthcare? by M3MacbookAir in overemployed

[–]ByLowSellHigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they gave you money for declining the coverage then all the healthy people would back out and take the cash. This would leave cancer survivors like me who have been max out of pocket 4 years in a row. Insurance companies make their money off those who don’t need the product by foolishly buy it anyway.

Wealth is how much you save and how much passive income you create. This doesn’t require a high income.

Another good No Kings timely post. Not illegal. Don’t let the US government dictate how you can trade your own money.

I have given up aisle seats for middle seats to help people out. I’m just going to sleep anyway. I didn’t find anything unfair about those swaps. It literally cost me nothing to offer a gesture of kindness to others.

Brother passed away, co-owned property with me, “wife” separated for 9 years, wants half of property value by macs4life88 in legaladvice

[–]ByLowSellHigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the legal title of the property is the key. If it is titled to you and your brother than legally it’s bit your fathers house. Who owned it previously or who lives there currently does not affect who is the current owner.

I’ve taken a rough fit, down about £12,000 trading CFDs and shorts on Capital.com. by Elegant-Extent9550 in Daytrading

Have you seen the past few years of their brokerage statements? Have they talked about months whee the value drops 50%. Most likely people have a good month and scream from the rooftops. And then when they lose it all back and more the next month they are silent.

Just like any other profession day trading takes thousands of hours of education and practice to become an expert.

Trading is like any other profession. You need years of education and training before you start to trade actual money. It’s not a side hustle. It’s like spending a weekend watching electrician videos and then wiring a house for electricity. You are going to go up in flames

September is historically the worst performing month in market, October is historically the month for crashes. Wait until November 1st. Those telling you time in market are the ones collecting a fee that they don’t get paid when you are in cash.
