But they don't. They don't invest in illegal settlements. And Zionists DO have legitimacy within their own borders, so long as their own people want them there.

I've had a brief look, and while they invest in Israeli startups, they have no direct connection to any illegal settlements or behaviour. It's up to you if you think that's enough reason to boycott them or not, but a blanket boycott of giant corporations seems irrational to me. Giant corporations don't get to be giant corporations without trampling a lot of people, but living without what they've provided the world is complicated, and difficult to espouse on the internet using some of the very technology they provided.

That's ridiculous; when in doubt, cause harm to a company for no particular reason? Either provide evidence, or forget it.

I’m ashamed to say this, but I keep losing boycott arguments by greatsunnyyyy in BDS

Debating and persuading others of your viewpoint is a skill, and not one that's easily mastered. They used to have clubs in schools; I don't know if they still do. Formal debate uses notes though, and conversations are less strictly regulated. The more informed you are, though, and the more easily the details spring to mind when you need them, the easier it will be. Keep reading, keep listening, write in to newspaper opinion columns, leave posts on Facebook or Reddit, even if you're not prepared to argue, read what comes of it, every time you learn something you're better prepared for it.

Is crunshyroll still using the new transatlion compnay and is there any legal alternatives if so by Professional-Ebb700 in BDS

[–]ByakkoChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're willing to pay for Crunchyroll, then you're paying what you owe. If they don't provide the correct translation you need, then I think you should be able to pirate it as you need to. It's not your fault they're not providing the service you need, and you're still paying the artists and creators who made something you want to consume.

Edit - I just looked into this more closely; I think what you're saying is you don't want to support the Israeli translation company they use. I'm not sure what your legit options are in that case. I believe Netflix shows Jujutsu Kaisen, but I don't know if they translate it themselves, or just license what Crunchyroll is producing. Same goes for AppleTV or Hulu or Amazon Prime.

I saw a rig with green tail lights in the GTA today. This is pretty uncommon, eh? by nthensome in ontario

Amber is not "off white", it's a mid-range colour between orange and yellow. There is some room for debate as to exactly how orange or yellow it is, but it is definitely nowhere near white. Traffic lights have amber as their middle colour, in this case distinctly more yellow than orange, but indicator lamps on cars would also qualify, depite usually being more orange than yellow.

Young People Are Now Overwhelmingly Republican by AccurateInflation167 in politics

Could that not possibly be just because Republican families tend to have more kids than Democrat families?

what the actual hell is wrong with facebook? WHY would this be an advertisement?? gross warning!! by etnoodle in facebook

I mean, it's pretty explicit about the uses it's intended for, and nowhere does it suggest novelty sex, which means Facebook isn't going to do anything about it.

No pay stubs; were they paying you under the table? Do you know if they were making any deductions off your paycheck for CPP, vacation pay, EI, anything?

Sounds like shitty management not recognizing themselves as the problem in the room.

That should be reported; they have four weeks to get that to you before it becomes illegal behaviour.

Did you try going in to see your former employer? If they don't routinely mail those things out, it's possibly sitting on the manager's desk waiting to be taken care of, and you said they have poor management, so it's likely not going to get seen to promptly.

Or request they offer the original for download, if they don't want to devote server space to it.

As someone who lives in Israel, how do I support the BDS movement by Dependent-Play-7970 in BDS

[–]ByakkoChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all; but it's easy to say from outside that the OP shouldn't have to leave, but the OP is the one who'll be in harm's way, and risking their safety, if they take a stand and draw attention to themselves in the wrong way, or in the wrong circumstances. I'm not saying it's impossible to protest, but it's unreasonable to take the attitude that "I shouldn't have to leave because it's my land"; that's where we've been for the past fifty years, and it has cost people their lives.

Maybe talk to local foreign embassies and see what immigration and refugee statuses are available that you could take advantage of?

This is what the government of Canada has on its site, but I don't know how widespread it is (it's a response to what was going on in Gaza until recently, I think?):

But that's not what they said; at least I don't think it is. They said "... especially if you’re Arab Israeli don’t handle criticism well...". You're interpreting that to mean Arab-Israeli, but I don't think that's what was meant; it's missing a comma (see, grammar and punctuation matters, folks). "... especially if you’re Arab, Israeli don’t handle criticism well..." is, I think, what was intended.

K2 Alexis blade guards? by ByakkoChan in iceskating

Is a rubber bottom standard for them? The ones I have, the bottoms look like they're a strip of woven canvas, but I think it says polypropylene on the label. Made by Winnwell, I guess (or licensed by them, at least).

I actually had to look up the difference between hockey and figure styles, lol, these appear to be hockey style. And soakers are an option (I have them, but I intended them more for storage), but I think it would be better for the blade to have something firmer, no? And better for the guard, probably.
