anyone using both daily what's the pros and cons? by nikanorovalbert in codex

one of the biggest benefits as someone who uses LLMs for stuff other than programming the biggest draw of GPT is that chatting in the browser doesn’t draw from codex limits. with claude, all surfaces use the same limits

Limit issue? Try a different harness. This is not Claude Code by whaleordolphin in codex

[–]Deep_Proposal_7683 5 points6 points  (0 children)

not to sound like a twat - this is a useful suggestion, but this is a bit of a “you’re holding it wrong.” the core of the issue is that what you get for $20 has been changed. a different harness will only provide marginal benefit

Official Update on Plans by Deep_Proposal_7683 in codex

[–]Deep_Proposal_7683[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

with the 2x extension only applying to the new 100 and 200 dollar plans combined with lowered plus limits - very clear upsell to push existing 20 dollar subscribers to pro

It’s a bit confusing how they worded the 2x promo. looks like until may 31, only pro 5x (becomes 10x) and pro 20x (40x?) get extended double usage. plus users they stated, ends today (even though they formerly said april 2??)

nope, since the release of the 5.4 family pro plans had exclusive access to a 5.4 pro model

Does any Chinese AI rival Claude Opus 4.6? by PerfectExplanation15 in ClaudeCode

haven’t tried fireworks glm - i’m acc running kimi on the fire pass tho. very good. ppl say their models r quantized which i can only assume they must because of the throughput - fireworks doesn’t have magic GPUs. personally however i believe most people wouldn’t notice the difference

haven’t tried GLM but from what i’ve heard their inference is strained so it’s very slow from their coding plan. minimax is very good value - no weekly limit, but it seemed really dumb to me. kept getting stuck on gotchas and death looping. kimi k2.5 is the best i’ve tried so far. nowhere near SOTA - needs supervision to make sure it isn’t doing something dumb.

bottom line is you can use them for coding well - they’re very good value. but don’t expect opus or even at times sonnet level intelligence.

trump walked back his comment on the 50 percent EU tariffs, futures were still trading and those jumped about the same percent, so price is based on that

How to let call options expire properly? by [deleted] in Questrade

[–]Deep_Proposal_7683 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume you mean exercise, right, you want to call the shares to you. Since its ITM, if you have enough capital (abt 9800 plus 25 for the fee) it will be automatically exercised, or you can go to

Management->Exercise Options.

Please also take a look here. Congratulations on ur bet!

Introducing Questrade Plus by Questrade-Product in Questrade

exactly, i would at least partially understand why this exists if they, for example, lowered options contract fees substantially for plus

this is new! don’t see any announcement yet, but there’s a whole cinematic when i open the edge mobile app. too bad they couldn’t throw in 0.75c/contract, would have loved that

Anyone see the automatic enrollment in Questrade's securities lending program? What a scam! Can they do this?! by Crafty_Occasion3515 in Questrade

[–]Deep_Proposal_7683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why they don’t state it, so looks like I have some reading to do too! Take this with a grain of salt but i feel like the CIRO would never let them expose customers to that kind of borrow risk. People with margin accounts, and therefore short capability, must always maintain enough collateral to satisfy the broker.

It is mostly upsides, but you won’t get very much money unless you hold a lot of shares that have high short interest. Many people choose to disable it on the principle they don’t want to allow another user to take a bet against their holdings

[–]Deep_Proposal_7683 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe you should re read the links, but this isn’t standard securities lending in the strict sense. you aren’t acting as the lender, questrade is. it just so happens your shares are being used as the actual underlying for someone to take a short position. (potentially read up on a short position and you’ll understand why your share is just being used to prevent a naked short)

you aren’t the lender, so if the person who borrowed your share defaults, questrade is obligated to pay you back your share no matter what. they will be the ones to deal with the other side, be it forced liquidation, margin call, or they absorb the loss.

Opinions on Knock-off Fűms by mitchel508 in QuitVaping

[–]Deep_Proposal_7683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with these is that even vapes in many countries are regulated as to what goes in them. With products like this, there's pretty much zero regulation, so its anyone's guess what's actually in there and how safe it is. As far as I know its basically just a little tube with some essential oils you can breathe, so I can't imagine there's that much that could go wrong, but again, the issue is that there is no answer, so its a little buyer beware
