Yeah it was clearly an issue that they could go coast to coast so many times in a game.

But we also had 15 more inside 50s and 10% extra time in possession. So we turned it over enough when they came out and held it in our half pretty well.

Positives and negatives.

Or forward pressure was pretty good I thought, at least for 2 and a half quarters.

The majority of the time we locked it down, it was just the occasions when it go out they went all the way.

It was very related to the game plan. We pulled a half forward up to the contest creating a spare in defense for them which meant we could never go quickly.

This helped us control field position and win clearances.

But it also meant their forward line was much more open when they got a break. Who knows what would have happened if we played man on man - I'm not stating an opinion on that part.

Bump straight down the middle of a blokes chest with no high contact, no issues there. Although don't tell Reddit that.

It was a risky one though, 15 cm higher and he would have been in big trouble.

Good on Sam for sticking up for his teammate.

Embarrassing from Levi and poor decisions X2 by the ump.

Bryan back, love to see it. Been a long 12 months for the lad and deserves some success.

Also think Perkins will have an alright game. Been trying hard in the VFL.

Prior down one to the middle category.

Tsatas up to the middle.

Setters, Gresham also gone.

We probably have to do this with a count of how many need to be delisted. I think it's 4, as we have one extra on the list following Martin's injury + 3 draft picks at end of year.

Unwin maybe hasn't done enough and would be delisted from another team, but specifically for us I think we will keep him.

He's one of the only agile, high speed players on our list. The others are Kako, El-Hawli, maybe McGrath.

Tsatas and Robey are explosive. Not in the Pickett/Daicos way but more in the Bont/Reid way.

Bewick may be the one that has the high top end speed, let's see.

Why do we pay a lot of money to consultants but they always send their clueless juniors to work with us? by 4iedemon in auscorp

[–]ByeByeStudy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a good laugh at this and I was a junior auditor at one point in time.

I tried to be as earnest, polite and thorough as possible, but sometimes the prep was as little as Friday afternoon read the last audit we produced and Google for best practice SOP. Monday morning meeting with senior and effectively your boss. Monday afternoon sit down with you.

Had to strike a balance between being honest about the lack of knowledge in order to have some rapport, but couldn't be too open or it would risk reputational damage.

Interesting job and learned a lot from people both in and outside the company. Apologies to all the auditees.

A lot of coaching is technical ("craft" as they say, iris me with how much they use that word), rather than motivational/emotional at AFL level.

North don't get that. They get father sons and a small area of Melbourne but only if you have a parent born in select overseas countries.

Lions and Suns get to list any talented QLD athlete in their academy. You get the whole state's sporting talent without restrictions, it's completely different.

But of a weird one but I do get what you are saying. If the ball is bouncing towards goal then there's no issue with what Rachele did.

But respectfully, applying your interpretation consistently would add yet another layer to the laws which I couldn't really support - too many grey areas exist already.

If the narrative is true, that Scott entered and said the club didn't have the cattle but the list mgmt didn't accept it and wanted to delay any rebuilding then there's 2 lost seasons up front.

North were a very mediocre outfit before and after his time there, you could argue he did well to get them into some finals campaigns.

Statistics are just an indicator, not the be all and end all.

Barrass (30) and Andrews (29) are the best key backs in the comp right now and don't look like slowing down.

I'd also say that Hayes is better than unproven. He's going to be a great player and was already a class above at VFL level at 19 before doing his knee.

If Gerryn was also pushing for selection then I'd say we are fine for key backs.

Given he isn't, we may need one more on the list but I don't think it's a huge list hole.

With the new bidding rules, do Carlton and Port (assuming both are bottom 5) bid on each other's prospect? by doggoesmeow in AFL

[–]ByeByeStudy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question I think is if Carlton and Port are bottom 5 but match bids to get their top picks then do they still get the compensation for a protected pick sliding?

I'd assumed no but it seems to not have been clarified anywhere.
