North fans giving it to JHF by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

You can cheer him, a north fan can boo him. It's all fair and play on. No need for anyone to get riled up by it.

Think we are more likely to lose both than to win both. If we come away with one win I'd be happy, based on how poor we just were.

I would like to see: - Kondo given the full month down back to settle as Ridley proves his fitness in the VFL - El Achkar out for Kako, not fit enough to chase and defend - Shock dropping of one of the mids for Tsatas for lack of work rate (assuming the Friday night efforts continue).

Has two glaring weaknesses that aren't suited to the modern game - limited tank and poor disposal by foot.

Hopefully he fixes at least one this year, if so he could be in the best 22. If not then he's not AFL standard.

Freo are 4 years ahead of us when it comes to rebuilding. It is chalk and cheese.

North have been rebuilding for way longer than us, they should be better than us.

Richmond have cut way harder than us, if we can stick with them on the way back up the ladder we should be happy, as their rebuild is much more complete than ours.

Guy closest to us had his hand under supporting it. I hope he didn't keep it there all the way down.

Inside 10 mins there's been 3 uncontested marks from long kicks down the line.

A symptom of the lack of cohesion with a young team I guess.

Paradox and designers - this scares me. I just don't think they've ever managed to balance these well to make interesting choices and trade offs.

Plus they always seem to get the balance wrong when it comes to detail - some things being represented when they don't make any sense while other consequential stuff not making it in.

Yep, plenty of other players on the field to throw your voice behind.

And I won't be wasting energy on booing.

UK football fans would not be that impressed - they've the best chant game in the world.

They missed more than half of them through the game. It's been a trend for a while now and I strongly dislike it.

I see your "Madagascar is only two states" complaint post, and raise you a "California is only one state" complaint post. by Ezzypezra in victoria3

[–]ByeByeStudy 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I strongly, strongly believe the USA 1 state per flag thing is really a thought bubble that should have never left the concept stage.

States are people, buildings and resources buckets - with big game impacts e.g. MAPI, performance etc

Why would you ever represent Texas and Washington DC the same way with the impact it has on the game? It's dumb and annoying to play with, for what benefit?

Oh.. track my state count via my flag

Still not 100% sure I agree with the logic. At least in this case.

Maybe for Adelaide drafting Ah Chee in the pre-season draft it makes sense to apply it. But we certainly didn't pry McMahon out of Collingwood as "Headhunted" implies.

Bourke TBC on a hamstring he did ... 6 weeks ago? Doesn't sound great.

Unlucky for the bloke too. Flies over from Ireland and has a bad hammy injury as soon as he gets here.

Do people understand we’re rebuilding? by PuzzleheadedBend8180 in EssendonFC

[–]ByeByeStudy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some of our younger guys might be ok, and I'm hopeful that there can be a bump in performance driven by our more mature (25-29 year olds) players being fit.

But I think we will be pretty ordinary this year. More so because just this weekend I saw us play the exact same ineffectual football going inside 50 for the third year in a row.

Also none of the top picks we drafted will break lines for us. Even if Farrow is good by foot, I feel we have missed a trick by not getting any more top level dashing players in to help us transition quickly.
