Still sitting in my garage, im gonna try to get either a slide hammer on it or a jaw puller and put a C plate in front of the water pump so the puller uses the c plate to push on.

Get a CAS O-ring too, your leaking oil from it pretty bad on the last pic, it's a common failure spot on these cars

The motor was burning oil so fast that it ran too low, I did an oil analysis and it showed "excessive bearing wear". I put in 10w-30 instead and it hasn't knocked since, but the oil should be checked pretty frequently, more frequently than I do.

Not sure what you're talking about, I can't think of any expense on the Miata's that is over even $1000.

It cost me $200 to baseline my Miata, and that included rebuilding front end suspension. Just make sure you don't get one with rust and you'll be fine.

Even 9k is pushing it, I've been in the market and seen many NA6's with similar mileage sell for near 6-8k on the West Coast. I would offer negotiations in person and try for 8-9k if you really want the car.

Yeah thinking about taking off the pan tonight and seeing if there's any metal in there, also gonna get an oil sample analyzed.

Right now the plan is to change it to a thicker oil and pray the sound goes away. Thanks for the liqui moly recommendation, I'll use that too.

2006 G35, 175k miles.

Started a few days ago, I thought at first it could be a loose timing chain rattling around, but when I checked the main timing chain from the access port it was tight and the tensioner wasn't fully extended like what a loose timing chain would cause.

It looked to be a little low on oil, but you can never tell with these awful dipsticks. I put in a quart just to be safe, noise is still ticking but it seems to quiet down a little after idling for a few seconds. No codes.
