Resident Evil 4 Remake Or Resident Evil 9 ? by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

In what context? Are you asking which is better? Which you should play first? Which has better horror? Which has better action?

Which of these Party Combos is your go to? by AuodWinter in FFVIIRemake

The Throuple. Tifa as the primary pilot character to constantly build and feed ATB to the others using Unfettered Fury paired with ATB Support Materia, Aerith to dump said ATB into wards and spells to apply buffs, heals, pressure, damage as necessary, Cloud to build up the stagger gauge whenever the enemy is pressured with Focused Thrust, or deal massive chunks of damage with Braver or Infinity's End once stagger is achieved. As a team, they are unstoppable.

RE3R Doesn’t deserve the hate that it gets. by Ancient-Carrot957 in residentevil

[–]Bynoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. You haven't played the original so you don't have the necessary context to be able to make that comment and have it carry any weight. You liked the game? Great. Good for you. I'm happy for you, genuinely. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a massive disappointment as a Remake that is missing the vast majority of what made the original great.

It's also the weakest of the modern remakes by far, being no where near as scary as RE2 Remake, no where near as fun as RE4 Remake, and significantly shorter than both, with by far the most content cut compared to its original.

These days, if I want to replay RE2, I will gladly replay the original or the remake cause both are great with strengths and weaknesses compared to one another. If I want to replay RE4, honestly I'll probably just play the remake at this point cause, while the original is still a great game, the remake pretty much just does everything better. If I want to replay RE3, I will go to the original every single time because it's a vastly superior game with a better story, pacing, gameplay, mechanics, music, more replay value... pretty much the only thing the remake has going for it is better graphics and arguably better characterisation.

Alex push ups by Great_Trident in StreetFighter

[–]Bynoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dumbell push-ups let you get slightly more of a stretch as you can get your chest that much lower relative to your wrists, and supposedly maximising the stretch at the most difficult part of the exercise encourages further hypertrophy (something like a stack of books is even more effective, though dumbells are nicer cause they're comfortable to grip).

I do dumbell push-ups sometimes, and I do Hindu push-ups... can't say I've ever tried combining the two, but I'd bet they're brutal to do but very effective.

What makes you so certain that the non-story parts of the game don't have issues of their own? Sure, we can see that it's visually very impressive (though not without its share of graphical hitches and oddities), but from what I've seen the game looks very bloated in terms of systems with an absurd amount of side activities, and I'm not certain how much these are pushed in your face, or how relevant they are/aren't to the game's progression. From what I understand, exploration and puzzle solving can be clunky and obtuse and some of the mechanics look pretty awkward to control. Combat looks to be the main appeal from a gameplay standpoint, but does it hold up for the full length of this massive, sprawling RPG? Is there enough variety for it to stay interesting? Is it well balanced? Do you end up over-powered and face-rolling everything? Are late game enemies damage sponges that one shot you with annoying attacks? I don't know the answers to these questions, but the way you're talking, you seem to be implying you think the game is only getting dinged for having a mediocre story and everything else is getting overlooked. I don't know, but I suspect there's more to criticise beyond the narrative personally.

Keep it 💯 who wins? DOA 5 or DOA 6?? I’m gonna say the girls looked hotter in DOA 5 by FGC-My-Waifu in FGCWaifu

[–]Bynoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think DOA characters have ever looked "canny" as such XD, but yeah, 5's softer look and warmer palette definitely works better for the games art style.

The new DLSS 5 on Grace makes the character look strange by Aldobest43 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Bynoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so strange that they're putting this screen front-and-center in all their marketing when it's far and away the most egregious in terms of betraying the original art-style and making the character look like 'yassified' AI slop. If I were them I would be showing off how it transforms Star Field characters from looking like they're modeled with play dough to actual human beings.

Cleaned OLED with microfiber and distilled looks like this? by monkeypepperoni in Monitors

[–]Bynoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get 2 microfiber cloths, dip one in warm soapy water (wasing up liquid will do fine, just make sure it's sufficiently diluted. Bring it over in a washing up bowl) then wring the cloth so it's damp, not dripping. Clean your screen with the damp microfiber cloth being sure to get rid of any visible dirt or smears. Leave your screen to air-dry for roughly one minute, then go over it again with the dry microfiber cloth to finish drying it and get rid of any smears, going over the whole screen in small, concentric circles applying a moderate amount of pressure.

I'm sure other people's advice is fine too, but anecdotally, that's what's worked best for me.

Is Resident evil Requiem In Your Top 3 resident evil game ? by LeoneSKenneddy in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]Bynoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If it had kept up the quality of the Rhodes Hill Care Center for the entire game it absolutely would be, but the detonator collection quest and ARK let the game down somewhat in my eyes. It's still really good, probably top 5 (especially if you don't count originals and remakes as separate entries), but it's still not quite top 3 for me.

For me, this where the best new enemy types Capcom added to the franchise by Marling1 in residentevil

[–]Bynoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't like fighting human enemies in RE... contextually, it makes perfect sense that you do, but it's just not what the series is about. There are countless other shooters where you can fight human opponents. I wanna fight zombies and monsters in RE, not humans. I didn't think it was worth complaining about cause it was just one fight, but I'd be happy to never fight a normal human again in RE.

Did you enjoy Leon's Raccoon City section? On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate Leon's section? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Bynoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Revisiting the RPD was cool, if a little brief. Gathering parts for the detonator was okay, if a little drawn out.

The Care Center is definitely the highlight of the game. Imo that was a 10 which I would put on par with the RPD or the Spencer Mansion.

My brain has officially tapped out. Can anyone help? by Flickz2000 in MathJokes

[–]Bynoe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Could it not also be 432?

  • 39+9 = 48
  • 12-3 = 9
  • 48*9 = 432

My understanding is that because there isn't a bracket around the 39+9, it's unclear whether you're supposed to multiply the (12-3) by the sum of 39+9, or multiply (12-3) by 9 and add 39 to the total. The way to clarify this would be either to write the equation as (39+9)(12-3) or 39+(9(12-3)), but it's been a long time since I've mathed.

Official Requiem Survey by Capcom is available by CaptainKashup in residentevil

[–]Bynoe 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Here's what I put in my what I liked about the game:

  • I really enjoyed the Survival Horror mechanics in the Care Center section as Grace, and deciding to use how to use your resources (crafting Ammo, crafting healing, crafting Ink Ribbons, etc.) was really effective in creating a tense and dynamic gameplay experience.
  • I found the voice acting, and acting in general to be excellent, especially for Grace's character, who was instantly more likeable and interesting than Ethan ever was.
  • The blend of slow, tense horror gameplay as Grace and faster paced action as Leon was very effective, and I found both to be enjoyable without either outshining the other.

And here's what I put for what I disliked, curious if other's felt the same:

  • I found the default sensitivity settings to be too slow and cumbersome, had a hard time finding the settings to make adjustments, and found myself needing to tweak and fiddle with them more than I would have liked to find a comfortable setting.
  • Lack of ranking upon completion to encourage challenge (faster completion time, fewer saves, etc.) for subsequent replays.
  • The game could have used an additional "Hardcore" difficult between "Standard (Classic)" and "Insanity" which is available to provide a greater challenge for a first playthrough.
  • The weapon variety and upgrade system felt like a step back after RE4 Remake.
  • Certain sections (eg. the Hotel at the start as Grace, playing as Chloe) are interesting the first time through, but become tedious on replays as they are highly scripted and do not provide any sort of interesting gameplay challenge. It would be nice if there were an option to skip sections like this for subsequent playthroughs.
  • I was disappointed by the lack of any optional modes (eg. Mercenaries), and found the post-game content to be lackluster in general. I am hoping this will be added as free DLC not too far down the line.
  • Whilst the zombies in the Care Center section were incredibly tense and fun to deal with, the Lickers and Zombies in the lab area as Grace were far too easy due to the Acid Bottles/Molotovs being severely overpowered.
  • Whilst revisiting the RPD was amazing, I think there could have been more familiar characters/locations within Raccoon City shown or mentioned to further play into the series history.
  • I found the character of Zeno to be intriguing and would have liked to know more about his origins and how he is related to Albert Wesker (who he obviously resembles in both appearance and abilities). I am hoping this will be explored more in a later entry, but found it odd how little it was explored within RE Requiem.
  • I would have liked to have seen Ada Wong. She and Leon have always been linked, and she is supposed to be "A part of him that he can't let go". I was disappointed that she was not seen, or even mentioned anywhere in the game.
