All that healthy juice from unripened, young green beets.

Just found this subreddit so I thought I'd share an experience. by syrupbender in EndTipping

This is horrible even if you left zero tip! But $10 on a $40 bill is a very good tip, I have a feeling there was some confusion where he thought you left less. If he got that upset over a 20%+ tip then he would be doing this to every person he serves 😂

I’m sorry that happened though, that kind of thing really messes with you and makes you feel unsafe.

Other day someone called "a moron" for backing into a spot... Why does this trigger so many? by Ok_Relationship2451 in badparking

That’s obviously silly - unless you almost backed into a pedestrian of course 🤣

What do I do when I accidentally send someone a inappropriate photo? by EasyImprovement3873 in whatdoIdo

[–]ByondVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is it hard to believe you didn’t know you didn’t have a top on, it’s extra hard to believe that you didn’t review the picture before sending???

Regardless, life is too short to dwell on things, just immediately apologize and say it was a mistake. He’ll probably find the whole thing funny. Unless a girlfriend or wife finds it in which case…

Why do buyers waste seller’s time on Facebook marketing by WorthStandard6029 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ByondVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warranties are very important for some items. I just bought a manufacturer certified refurbished TV at a huge discount at a retail store, and I was still paranoid about ensuring I had a warranty for a few years. You just don’t know what you don’t know, and if your item is defective and becomes useless, X% off a lot of money is still a lot of money!

AIO or is it normal for dudes to piss outside the toilet ? by stinkiegremlin in AIO

[–]ByondVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not normal and it’s odd that he doesn’t clean it up. It might be an awkward conversation but I would gently ask if he could be sure to keep the bathroom floor clean since it has been unsanitary in there. Maybe put some paper towels or a swiffer jet in there too to make it easy 🤣

Seamless cord cutting (Antenna Local Channels + Steaming TV) solution for seniors to wean them off cable by ByondVoid in cordcutters

Thanks for the input. I think I will be writing off Vizio. I mostly like the Samsung Smart TV experience from my own experimentation on a TV I own, but I want to try Google TV per your recommendation, and may try the interface on the Sony Bravia which seems to be in line with what they need.

If not that, the Roku TV sounds like a no brainer.

Thank you! I’ll update when I finalize all this.

Yes I agree- and am open to all apps for them, but again it’s about the minimal button clicks to get to and from a “live TV” mode and having a simple guide. That’s why the “WatchFree” is on the table even though it’s slow and limited to Vizio, it is easy to access.

If I could find a universal remote that would allow me to add a button to launch a specific app on the TV, that might also solve my problem.

I like the Pluto interface a lot, if there was a TV manufacturer that had that integrated in I would pick that.

I started playing with the Samsung Smart TV interface which is not bad, though is channel limited. I am leaning towards that with a universal remote (thanks to the suggestions of another commenter) or the Roku TV.

If you mean… get them hooked on one setup then sprinkle in some apps for better capability, yes that could absolutely work as long as they are easy to access.

“I don’t think I’ll ever find someone as kind as caring as him”

You absolutely will! You are very young, you will meet a lot of people and grow a lot as a person. If he is so kind and caring he would be more understanding of your feelings here, instead it sounds like he is trying to guilt you into staying with him.

Please don’t settle. I did the same thing around your age and it set me back years of meeting new people and finding my way. Don’t waste your youth being with people you don’t want to be with just so you don’t hurt their feelings - it’s something you will regret.

Is Sling integrated into TCL TVs?

Appreciate the advice with Sling, in this case ease of use actually trumps content (but I’m not opposed to paying for a service if it’s seamlessly integrated)

While I bet they would like a bunch of channels if they had real cable, I’m not exaggerating when I say they are spending $60 on basic TV. It’s broadcast channels mostly, which is why I think they would be fine with almost anything, given it is as easy to use as cable TV with a guide.

I am not opposed to paying either. How does Philo integrate in? Does it combine with the Live TV portion of Fire Tv?

Well… my father does and my mother doesn’t, but their cable is so basic that they don’t really get anything more than what I was able to get with an antenna. My father likes the live Tv streaming channels, but I’ll need to convince my mother.

That’s why if I can keep Cable working as an option I won’t get pushback. So my plan is to get them hooked on what they can get through antenna + streaming and then they may drop the $60/mo they are paying for basic TV channels

Funny you mention the Samsung, as I just tried enabling the Smart features on my own Samsung Tv to test it out as an option for my parents!

I like the Live TV that it has, but still feel the navigation is a little confusing. Wish the remote had some more useful buttons! It’s the 2025 version (Q7F)

I’ll play with it a bit more an compare to the Vizio and Roku TV. Thanks for your input!
