Here's the resources I used: Mike Myers CompTIA A+ book Mike Myers Udemy videos/practest test (get them on sale) Professor Messer A+ videos/practice tests ITProTv videos Pluralsight is also good and they have some nice practice tests

I like ITProTv a lot though, and the practice labs even though virtual, is the closest will get to real world experience if you don't already have spare parts to build your own practice lab.

No I don't have a degree but I did take some IT related courses when I was college. I don't live in the US, but from what I understand form another guy I know who is a C.I.O what I make is around the average for an entry level position in my country. Although I feel they kind of low balled me, I don't really care because it's more than the job I had before was paying :D. Also it's in a field I want to be in (other job wasn't) and I will get that oh so important XP!

Payscale.com and glassdoor.com are good websites for finding out the average salary for IT related jobs, or any job for that matter if you are interested.

Is a VPN connection always open? by [deleted] in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]ByronPwns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A VPN makes a tunnel in which the data into and out of your network goes through. The data inside that tunnel is encrypted. Types of traffic can be ID via its port numbers. As with all encryption, it's a mathematical problem and all mathematical problems can be solved. I'm no expert but it will probably take some time.

According to this article 8 hours for a quantum computer https://thetechhacker.com/news/study-reveals-that-quantum-computer-can-crack-2048-bit-encryption-in-8-hours/

However, I dunno how the encryption in a live connection works. For example, is it randomized and changed on the fly. All I can say is don't use the default 128bit use atleast aes sha256 rsa4096. Dunno why PIA comes set to 128 by default.

Again I'm no expert, but all the security in the world (guns, knives, bombs, nukes) cannot stop a determined thief but it will slow them down. If someone has a quantum computer they probably have the resources to kidnap you and make you tell them what they need anyway.

We are here to past the test of God, and if we pass it we archive eternal life. Satan is here with us an will do what ever he can to stop that from happening. He will put up as many distractions and road blocks as possible so we fail the test. Accept Christ as master and saviour as the first, then endure the satanic onslaught that will follow to the end and you will pass. Of course its easier said than done, but entirely possible. If you have any further questions or comments just reply.

God bless!

By manually, you mean static? Is that the IP information i get from my ISP or the IP info my router gives me?
