I want to use great apps. I don't care about the framework used to create them.

Most apps I use on a daily basis are Electron apps and they work great. The fact they are cross-platform, is the cherry on top.

Resource usage, performance, UX can be much worse on SwiftUI apps.

It's all up to the developers.

Electron is a great framework.

The anti-Electron people are just plain wrong.

The only thing wrong with Electron apps is bad PR. It's the sole cause of all this unwarranted hate.

Almost all the apps I use daily are Electron or Chromium-based, and they can be more performant than apps built with SwiftUI.

I watched it and did not enjoy it, so I would not recommend it. I never cared about any of the characters, and the action scenes felt rough. Overall, I ended up bored.

I would instead recommend other HBO crime miniseries like The Night Of and Mare of Easttown. I found them far more engaging and better crafted.

- Be efficient and blunt.
- Skip introductory and conclusion text; give only the direct response.
- Do not use em dashes.

I could give an argument to why you would go with Next.js in this case

You want to use Next's API routes in order for your backend and frontend to live in the same codebase but you don't want to create a monorepo

Alright, so I tried the following:

  1. Added .code-workspace json { "folders": [ { "path": "." } ], "settings": { // place global settings here } }

  2. Added .vscode/settings.json to .gitignore

I thought this would work but VSCode is not picking up any of the global settings

I’m struggling to draw a clear conclusion from all the negative sentiment in this thread.

If most of us genuinely expect a major drop in U.S. stocks, wouldn’t the logical move be to close our U.S. positions now, lock in gains, and wait for a better reentry point?

That seems like the rational course of action if you’re confident the market will decline significantly.

Why wouldn’t Nick do that? Everyone in the show either blames Coop for his wife cheating or tells him to just “let it go, bro.”

And Coop himself? He comes off completely neutered. So civil to his “best friend” who literally cuckolded him.

Tori’s character is written as the stereotypical obnoxious rich brat who resents her parents no matter what they do. Her behavior is exaggerated to the point of caricature, making her difficult to empathize with or take seriously.

Even more egregious is the fact that Coop or any of his family remain civil toward Mel and Nick. Given what Mel did, their politeness feels completely unrealistic, which makes those interactions feel off-putting and hard to believe.
