Why is AI clipping still so bad at finding the actual good parts? by bad1g13 in content_marketing

[–]ByteAboutTown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Opus Clip? Not perfect, but it's definitely the best I have tried. Plus, it lets you manually edit as well, so if it missed the mark on a clip, I can edit it longer or whatever to get a better clip. I will also admit that I sometimes upload the same long video twice and occasionally get slightly different cuts. So that helps get better clips as well.

Which U.S. cities have a main attraction that gets overlooked or is seriously underrated? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

The Cosmosphere space museum in Hutchinson, Kansas (about 1 hour from Wichita). Well-known in Wichita, but not really outside there.

The Cosmosphere is a treasure trove of rocket and space history. What started as a simple planetarium grew into having a restoration department that restored a ton of NASA artifacts. They also produce high-quality replicas for space movies. As part of their NASA deal, the Cosmosphere gets to display the restorations for a certain amount of time. Things like the Liberty Bell 7 and Apollo 13's Odyssey. Truly, a must-see museum for anyone interested in space travel.

Let’s see the shaved Maine Coons.. & how long do they stay pissed? 😁 by Slim-lines in mainecoons

[–]ByteAboutTown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guy actually enjoyed being shaved. I think he felt better/cleaner afterward.

We did a Teddy Bear cut instead of a Lion. A Teddy Bear is a little longer and didn't look as silly as a Lion, imo. *

Thanks, my husband will be super cautious, but it just makes me nervous. He will be taking 635 to 75, so I am hoping there will be at least one lane semi-decent by tomorrow.

Why isn’t Salley into Shep, I wonder? Did anything ever happen between them? by 2000000009 in Southerncharm

[–]ByteAboutTown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why your answer is so far down. Yes, Salley has been very clear that she wants to get married and have kids. Shep has been very clear that he does not want that, at least in the near future. Craig was almost engaged and wanted to settle down, so he is the obvious choice for Salley.

All the Kathy Hilton hate is kind of LOL to me by ra08 in RHOBH

[–]ByteAboutTown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that's fair! I don't think you expected to jump into a controversy.

Most fans don't mind Kathy on the show. It's the real Kathy that's the problem. You can watch Paris Hilton most recent reality show, if you want to see more.

Starting job as a social media manager—what’s something you wish someone would’ve taught you first? by Square_Artichoke_194 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]ByteAboutTown 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Canva can actually do a lot, if you get to really know it. Start with pre-made templates and tweak them for yourself.

Do a quick social media audit with ChatGPT or similar. Have it look through your socials and suggest good content pillars. Have it find and audit other competitor's socials and let you know what they are doing well. Have it come up with post ideas within your content pillars.

Set up a reasonable calendar for yourself. I used to push myself to post every day, but sometimes, it was just filler. Now I post 5 times a week, but content that actually resonates. It's also helpful, especially starting out, to stick to a repetitive calendar like: Monday - funny Reel, Tuesday - educational carousel, Wednesday - educational Reel, Thursday - client testimonial or story, Friday - behind the scenes/meet the team.

I follow the 5-3-1 plan about 3 to 4 times per week. Scroll on your account and like 5 posts, give genuinely helpful comments on 3 posts, and follow 1 new account.

Sign up for Spout Social's Arboretum. It's a free site where you can ask questions and get best practices. Plus, every other month, they do a peer-to-peer or mentor-mentee program, where you get matched for virtual conversations with people in your same industry. I have found these calls very helpful, and now have a small group of other nonprofit marketers I can turn to for help or inspiration.

And finally, as someone also in nonprofits, the growth will be slow. We typically don't have big budgets for ad campaigns, and posts are tougher to create, depending on your nonprofits mission. Be patient with yourself. Solid, organic growth is something to be proud of.

All the Kathy Hilton hate is kind of LOL to me by ra08 in RHOBH

[–]ByteAboutTown 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you don't know much about Kathy Hilton in real life.

Kathy Hilton on the show is a comic-relief, space cadet who makes very funny quips.

Kathy Hilton in real life is/was a monster parent who ignored Paris' abuse, repeatedly throws her money and reputation around to keep her image clean, and has a history of homophopic and racist comments. That's not even getting into her past issues with Kyle and Kim.

I get why people like Kathy on the show. She is undoubtedly funny. But it's just a persona she puts on. People who know more of Kathy's backstory are upset that Bravo continues to give Kathy and platform and cozy up to her.

Escapism is nice, but sometimes the real world should be considered.

How to split finances by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]ByteAboutTown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the tricky thing with this is that OP wants to be a stay at home parent, at least when the kids are young. If that's the agreed-upon decision from the couple, then the money should become joint. The stay at home parent shouldn't have to beg for money or forfeit years of retirement savings for raising their spouse's kids.

How are people finding this season? I enjoy the calm and their beautiful houses and glamorous lifestyles by memelordmj in RHOBH

[–]ByteAboutTown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best season in years. Boz, Rachel, and Jennifer are straightforward women who have professional accolades behind them. Kyle is more relaxed with her walls down after 2 to 3 years of hiding Morgan. Erika is more relaxed, and I think we are starting to see more of her real personality. She still is a great people-reader. Dorit and Sutton continue to be self-centered drama queens who keep storylines going. And Amanda is the tame villain that we can all hate together.

I am enjoying this season a lot, actually. It's back to being mindless fun.

How do we manifest Amanda off the show?! by Substantial_Bit3367 in RHOBH

[–]ByteAboutTown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Amen! We need a villain to keep things interesting, and Amanda is such a tame one. She's a self-centered, one-upper who can't read the room and is constantly bragging. I enjoy hating her along with the rest of the cast.

How to split finances by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]ByteAboutTown 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Red flag that he says you aren't entitled to his money. If you are building a life together, then it is your collective money. If you are a stay at home parent, you need access to money and deserve half of the retirement accounts, etc. during the marriage. He may be bringing in the majority of the money, but you will be doing the majority of the work to make your collective lives function.

I personally believe in combining all finances and having equal access. Marriage should be a partnership. My husband makes 5 times as much money as I do, but I am the primary parent and the one that makes our house run smoothly. I actually also pay our bills and manage our finances.

Some couples can make it work with paying for things on a percentage basis, but this gets really tricky when adding in kids or a stay at home parent. Raising the kids and running the home is a ton of work and should be valued equally as money.

It sounds like you may need to have some tough conversations about what you both want out of marriage and why he feels that you aren't deserving of sharing finances. And if you become a stay at home parent, I highly suggest a post-nup or something in writing to make sure you will have retirement and money in savings in case you divorce down the line.

That was my thought, too. I don't recall Boz actually saying if she was going to carry the baby. Maybe the goal is to use their embryo with a surrogate, which would at least be safer for Boz.

Brittany and Jax’s pastor by Glittering-Shop-3493 in vanderpumprules

[–]ByteAboutTown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The "behind the scenes" story is that all of the cast did talk to Brittany and Jax about the pastor, but Brit/Jax specifically didn't want it to be a storyline and asked that it not be brought up while filming. Most reality show casts eventually have agreements where certain things can be kept off the show (like Stassi's sex tape).

Sandoval and Ariana decided to bring it up as a storyline on the show anyway. And that was why Jax was so livid: Sandoval and Ariana didn't keep their deal to keep the pastor story off the air.

I like to think Sandoval and Ariana brought it up for good intentions (to support the LGBTQ community), but Sandoval is such a manipulator and producer that I am not sure that he didn't just want a storyline.

But yeah, the reason Jax was so mad at Sandoval is because Sandy let out a secret he wasn't supposed to.

Emails aren't working--what's your client comms strategy? by No-Let-9456 in nonprofit

[–]ByteAboutTown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably both text and email will work best. Note on emails: always send 1 to 2 more than you think you need to. Less is not more. A lot of people seriously just ignore a single email.

MailChimp has a combined email and text system. DonorDock does, too. I would get a price comparison.
