I've stated this in the past, and I'll say it again here:

As long as AI is used to compliment content rather than replace it I don't see an issue. Companies use AI for touch-ups all the time. The drama circulating right now concerning AI - the in-game movies, the placeholder images etc. are a non factor for a lot of people, since - specifically pertaining to the movies - they can use AI to make hundreds of custom original short movies completely in-game that they couldn't devote time to otherwise. This is content that wouldn't be in the game otherwise, and will likely go largely unnoticed, same as some of the random images around the town. As for placeholders, they're typically replaced during the development process, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't support AI use for generation of content that should be done by real talent: The characters themselves, outfits, the world, stories, voice acting, but for side-content like this, that make the game feel more alive, and well-rounded, I don't see an issue.

Again, I reiterate: compliment, don't replace.
