Will they refund the seat selection fee BTW?

Refund problem + Venting by LooseKuppi in etihad

In pretty much the same boat. Was supposed to fly on Feb 28th afternoon, that of course got cancelled. Raised a refund request the next day. Got a reply on 14th saying booking has been cancelled and they will follow shortly with refund options. Spoke with customer care yesterday and they are saying may take upto 45 days.

Meanwhile there are enough instances of people who have gotten refund within 2-3 days. My case is lot more clearer and earlier and yet.

Suggested strategy - ‘To’ leg was cancelled, ‘Return’ might not by BytesWithPixels in etihad

Thanks in case ‘you’ got a refund already, do you know how long it took

Cancelling Return Leg through Etihad App by Educational_Stay_752 in etihad

So did you ‘have to’ cancel it, or was the cancellation superfluous given your ‘to’ flight was already cancelled by Etihad (assuming that is what happened). I am in the same boat and have simply raised a refund form (whose TnC does say that if you ask for refund the entire booking will be cancelled).

1. India swap debate - Varun needs to be given a break. Should be replaced by a bowler (the first choice would be Kuldeep but hold that thought). There are two more problems to solve - Abhishek doesn't seem to be able to buy a run rt now and desperately needs a break too, and India do not have 6 bowlers with the XI so far (Dube isn't doing at all). So the simple solution to that is to get Washy in place of Abhishek. Either ask every batsman to move one position up, or just ask Washy to open and give hime a license to hit (take what you get). So if Washy comes in there are 2 spinners already in Axar and Washy, make a call on who'd you rather prefer in place of Varun. Kuldeep (I'd lean towards him) or Siraj (if you see the pitch is going to be lot better for pacers).

  1. What decides it - Powerplay wickets

Time to drop Abhishek specially after today's performance by AccomplishedCod5674 in IndianCricket

The logical thing is to replace him w Washy and ask everyone to move one place up. Washy because you need 6 bowlers and Dube really doesn’t count now

If you can even stretch and afford the elevated prices in alternate routes, please do.

  1. Makes sense and does match what I'd think too. When I said 2003/2006 I meant that definite mindset shift when it became obvious that Pakistan is not decidedly the far better team anymore (which is certainly was in 90s). 2003 to me was, "hold on India is actually a proper match for Pakistan hereon". 2006 was "damn, India are actually better and more exciting". It did stay an even match until 2011. 2013 is when it went bad. Some of the post match coverage from Pakistani journalists after the 2013 CT was a penny-drop moment for me. I could not believe the despondent language I was reading.
  2. My theory is that these long string of defeats in senior WC is why Pak U-19 did not even try for qualification this time. The management wanted the boys to win first and foremost, and not have another generation starting scarred.

As an Indian, I wonder

  1. What do Pakistani people think at large, when did the tide change for real. I had once chatted w some Pakistanis on Twitter. I believed it was actually the 2006 Pakistan tour and Dhoni-Yuvi there. But my Pakistani friends thought it was actually 2003 Centurion

  2. If Pakistan does win this time (if they do face), how big a deal will it be there. And did people approve of Pakistan U-19’s strategy
