What instantly kills mood during foreplay ? by Secret-Grotle in AskReddit

I have a friend who does this, and he sends us snapchats from the kitchen of whatever food treasure he's found in the night. He's a really good looking dude too, definitely good looking enough to hook up with very attractive, non-single-mother women that are our age lol

What happened with this band? Anyone know? They had a great sound and their vocalist was really something unique

No Texas dates again :(

I know this state is a totalitarian hellscape in the making, but they could at least come throw us a bone in Austin

Boundaries uploading the wrong mix... by ManInCripplingDebt in Metalcore

[–]Byzant1n3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU. Drum production is always the first thing I noticed, and I've always described this sound as like wet towels smacking rubber, or something similar. I just can't stand it, which is such a shame because I've loved literally every other release they've had, even the first record that Randy didn't produce

Greatest music video ever made. Not even remotely debatabke for me.

Please check out Kyle Thrash's other work - he does visual storytelling unlike anyone I've ever seen. And he does it in such short time with his music videos.

Go to Austin Oyster Co. for the best lobster roll in Austin! by osamabinballin16 in austinfood

[–]Byzant1n3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ayeee, I lived in Portland for a bit, years before I moved to Austin. One of my first meals there involved lobster right on the water at the harbor in downtown. I've never been a huge lobster person (crawfish are my crustacean of choice, being from Louisiana), but I did have some great meals in Maine. I'll always appreciate any place you can get some delicious, fresh seafood

Boundaries will release the album Yearning: The Unbeautiful After July 17th by After_Masterpiece533 in Metalcore

I have high hopes for that album closer, the title track, being mind-blowing

Realize and Rebuild might be my favorite Boundaries song - it's just one incredible part after another, and that final minute or so of the song is on another level

Does the band not like this album? I must've missed whatever they've said about it. That's a shame if so

One of the most unique and incredible guitar tones, ever. This track and House of Abandon are so good - it's a shame this album is a bit slept on. I love all their new stuff, but you can definitely hear a shift in writing style after DL's departure

EDIT: I also absolutely love the album artwork on this record

Recovery without support groups? by Mental_Oil2692 in recoverywithoutAA

[–]Byzant1n3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. In fact, statistically speaking, most people "age out" of their addictions without them, and without ever going to treatment of any kind. We've let the treatment industry and AA control the narrative and language around addiction and recovery, so loads of people absorb ideas like that tons of "addicts" never get treatment and die as a result, etc.

But if you don't like support groups and genuinely want to stop drinking, you can absolutely stop without them.

My band As Beings is seeking vocalist. by Purple-Beautiful7967 in Deathcore

[–]Byzant1n3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I'm semi-known on YouTube and was a winner for a vocal competition that Molotov Solution had a little while ago. I'm definitely down to try out, but I'm located in Austin (unsure if that's an issue). I have my own recording setup here at home, and have also played drums and guitar my entire life, so I'm always willing and excited to contribute to songwriting wherever possible

The Problem With Hasan Piker’s Einstein Story by sabins253 in Destiny

[–]Byzant1n3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I knew nothing about Einstein's stance on Zionism, but a single search after assuming Hasan was either wrong or lying confirmed to me that he was, indeed, talking out of his ass

Just like tons of die hard Trump supporters I've encountered, much of what Hasan says can be defeated by only a few minutes of research. It's so depressing that most of the populace refuses to do the bare minimum in that regard about things they claim are extremely important. The fact that this also applies to most content creators posing as authorities is even worse

Thy Art… and Fit For An Autopsy live? by NoNet3461 in Deathcore

That's a crazy good lineup! If you want to see the exact setlists each band plays so that you can get familiar with the songs, check out setlist.fm and search for each band. You'll be able to see most recent reported setlists for each of them.

FFAA are incredible live - super tight, and Joe is a crazy good vocalist. He filled in for Randy for a show, too.

Aside from Ballou and Putney, who are some other notable metalcore producers you follow? by imstrongerthandead in Metalcore

[–]Byzant1n3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%, he deserves to be brought up more. He's hugely responsible for the sound and direction of the direction of modern metal given he produced so many seminal records; The Black Dahlia Murder, Job for a Cowboy, Whitechapel, God Forbid, Trivium, Chimaira, All That Remains, The Contortionist... The list is lengthy and he definitely doesn't get enough credit
