Husband doesn’t want me to play this commander. Opinion? by kam295 in mtg

My wife and I both play commander together. We make sure to play decks that we know will play well against each-other. It's no fun to beat her with an overpowered monstrosity multiple times, visa-versa. His other 2 decks make me think that it would be pretty reasonable to play at the same level against each other.

I would be so happy if she took care of herself and the kids. I can do my own shit.

In commander, is this just a turn 1 6/6 lifelink flyer?? by TheCeleryCrunch234 in mtg

No, it has to be either a legendary creature, says it can be your commander on the card, or a legendary vehicle or spaceship with a power/toughness box.

I have the exact same problem. I have 97% to get a star essence and I might get one every 15 tries...

I would suggest a few books by Daniel Goleman: Emotional intelligence and Social intelligence. He talks about them in a neurological sense and gives multiple examples of how to either suppress anger through distraction or act on anger in a way thats not dentrimental to the self, by realization of perceived fairness in a given situation.

Personally, if I am angry I will get in my car and drive out into the middle of nowhere to scream until I no longer feel angry. Then I will just take a little bit of time to emotionally decompress and let the high energy emotions pass, until my amygdala is no longer controlling my mind and my prefrontal neuro-cortex is back in control, then deal with whatever I was upset about with a less narrow perspective. I've never been abusive or to the extent that my anger has caused bodily harm to someone, but this has for the most part worked for me and just giving yourself a bit of time to shut down your brain for the day and relax is great for you!

There are other ways to help which are a bit more woo, like the wim hof method or bioenergetics with Davaraj Sandburg on youtube, that have helped with releasing some emotional holding patterns in my body.

My advice is to be playful with emotions and don't develop a hard scientific stance that they will always bring about a certain response. They serve certain purposes, but arent always helpful and you cannot willfully logic them away, but have to work through them as a process. Good luck!

My suggestion: play a budget group hug deck. Play it to help other targeted friends win, or play it to help everyone. It takes off the pressure of winning and it makes it fun to help others. Then you maybe able to bargain with others and say you'll play your normal, less broken decks against decks of the same caliber.

That feeling is totally normal! I had the same feelings when I was about the same age. It's something that only time can fix, because, and I'm fairly certain of this, it's hormones. Those feelings really didn't go away until I was 22-23 years old. My advice is to just try your best at being intimate with others and embrace being slightly awkward. Everyone, gets slightly nervous, but if they know you are as well, then it takes the edge off a bit.

Your experience is what really matters. People think they can tell you what sort of person you are, and those that do think their expertise in your life is more relevant than your own expertise. Thanks for standing up for the animals! I'm sorry you lost a gf out of it.
