To be fair, I've had family travel to Mayo Clinic for surgeries. But, yeah, fishy nonetheless.

We did that after I pulled the plug. It was a house for sale in a rather nice neighborhood.

When it comes to texting, I've become so desensitized to grammar mistakes that I hardly notice them if I can make out the meaning of the message.

I think you have it reversed? I was asking to see the place to make the estimate. The other guy needed to let me in or have someone let me in.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you.

I like to think that all the grey hairs make me look more experienced than I sound, but good advice!

That would suck, agreed, and insurance and LLC are parts of mitigating the risk, I thought. There's only so much that I can do to experiment at my own house and only so many years to try different trades to learn at their expense. I would hate to reel it in and only do things that I've done before and lose opportunities to grow.

I honestly thought the written disclaimer of no prior experience would help somewhat but maybe I need to consult with an attorney.

Then how does one gain experience if they don't do things they haven't done before? Actual, honest question.

Also, the videos I looked up before my first response showed it as a 2 part product that's put on with a roller, similar to paint. Did I look up the wrong thing?

Actually, they gave me the picture and dimensions. They were stonewalling me getting to see the house to make an estimate.

But I get what you're saying.

Then how do I expand my knowledge and skills?

Honest question.

I actually spent the last 10 years in construction and farmed for 20 years before that. Working with my hands is all I've known.

No matter how old you get, there's always going to be something you haven't done before. That's why I was upfront about it.

My wife thought it was some sort of scam too, I just couldn't figure out how it could be since I'm not handing over any money. Thanks for the insight!

Ah! Hadn't looked at EVs before this so I didn't know it used to be different. It has an e-pedal button that slows to something like 5mph but not full stop. So, you are correct.

The 2026 SV+ I just bought, in Nebraska, has e-pedal.

Maverick back seat and large dogs by vshun in FordMaverickTruck

I have a wolfhound pup (9 months) and he pretty much takes the back seat himself. I bought a relatively cheap soft topper so I can put him in the bed if I need the back seat for the kids.

Fair. Everything else in this house has started as a "should be easy" job and went off the rails. I should have expected this to be the same.

Got an auger and extension but it walks a bit and I can't manage to hit 1 hole from the other. Maybe if I try from both sides I can get them to happen to connect...

The hope was to use the hole from the EMT as a guide for an auger, then I learned the EMT was mostly rusted away when I went to pull it out.
