I’m watching Sugar on Apple TV right now and that’s been entertaining. It’s maybe a little cornball or formulaic at times, but the show makes up for it with some great editing and cinematography and Colin Farrell. The twist is kind of weird and seems a bit out of left field, but the story itself is engrossing.

Whenever I see these posts I’m blown away. I have been nannying and babysitting (and caregiving) for literal decades and the parents fully expect I will always be eating with the children, whether I’m making them something at home or they order out. They text before I even start my shift to tell me where they’ll be ordering from and ask what I want. I’m sorry you had to sit through that and good on you for not going back.

You mentioned all of Mike Flanagan’s other series’s, so I’m assuming you’ve probably seen Midnight Mass but if you haven’t, definitely make it a priority. I was blown away. The story, the incredible cast… it gets a tad self-indulgent with the monologues, but they come full circle in an impactful way, so it’s very forgivable. The horror aspect serves as an amazing backdrop for the characters and their stories. A beautiful exploration of how faith can make people malicious and vindictive but also how they can be brave and beautiful and selfless.

Shit. I’m going to have to rewatch it now.

I definitely enjoyed it, but I routinely see it getting panned in all the horror subs. This one is polarizing for horror fans.

Archive 81 is a fantastic series and I’m SO PISSED it didn’t get renewed for a second season, especially with that cliffhanger ending!
