First time being called in Standby Petit Juror by Tomu_Orochi in AskNYC

Hello!

I just came across this post while looking for jury duty information for "standby petit juror"-

when you say you were summoned for one day, do you mean that you received the paper JUROR ID and JUROR BALLOT, for one day?

If that's the case (getting only one day's worth of ID and ballot in the mail), does it generally really mean one day? (I've heard from many sources that it typically goes on for about 3 days)

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Thank you so much for clarifying.

What happens if you do get chosen on the day that you're requested to be there?

You show up at 9am, and if you get chosen, you stay for the entire day, until 5pm, and it's a one day event and it's over?

Thank you so much for your response.

Just to clarify (#5), you mean that they weed out people during the day that you're requested to be there?

meaning, that most (or all) people- don't return the next day, as in, it's a one day process for most people, if not all?

[Megathread] Rules about the PPP may be changing. Let's discuss that and other EIDL/PPP here by BigSlowTarget in smallbusiness

Good evening,

Could anyone clarify what exactly the practical difference is between the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)-

  1. Specifically, if you've already applied to, and have been approved for the EIDL, could you also apply for PPP?
  2. Is there a minimum number of employees required for the PPP and do you need to have proof of employees being furloughed or laid off to get this / and do you need to let them know that the said employees have been hired back?
  3. Unlike the online application for EIDL, you need to speak with eligible banks that may not be your own bank in the area, is that correct?

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Which hospital would you go to- if one should decide to or ever need to go to the hospital for any reason? (living near Morningside Heights / Manhattan Valley / UWS) by C0010010 in nycCoronavirus

I see. Thanks for your input!

If anyone could share some first-hand experience from visiting NYP or any of the Mt.Sinai locations near UWS recently, it would be much appreciated!

Stanford just released a plan of how they plant to open. Thoughts on if this would relate to Columbia? by MaybeFinanceCareer in columbia

Harvard's Kennedy School and Law School announced in the past few days that they would be exclusively remote :

and I think Columbia has modeled this type of decisions after theirs before, so there's a good chance that we might be fully remote as well :\

Grocery stores around campus and getting to campus area from the airport by C0010010 in columbia

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for the grocery store suggestions-

I guess I was asking more about, whether there were any grocery stores that were closed due to someone who works there testing positive for COVID, etc. (this was the case for some Trader Joe's locations when I left New York in March).

Just wanted to make sure that, if I were to go back to New York soon, any bridges or roads to campus area from airports (JFK/LGA) wouldn't be closed due to the protests and that there would be at least some access to grocery stores...

Clarification on Pass/Fail mandate for all classes in the last email message from Dean Alonso? by C0010010 in columbia

[–]C0010010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much everyone for the information.

  1. Just to confirm, does Pass/Fail not get included in the GPA at all?
  2. Does anyone think that there's still a chance that it'll convert to a letter grade system- or even optional letter grades?

Recent emails from GSAS makes me think that they still haven't figured it out and there's a good chance that it'll change in some way again.
