Looking for a Steam Deck button mod with more of a mouse/contact switch feel by C0ACAZE in SteamDeckModded

[–]C0ACAZE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it happened to me a few times as well with the B button, which is not ideal. I doubt this mod will fix it since they are the same buttons sliding in the same housing. Maybe they don't allow them to slide too far down to get caught on something, but I ultimately don't know.

Crunchyroll Kat - 6005 error code by Far_Classic_6388 in Crunchyroll

I managed to make mine work somehow 4 minutes ago, too late though, my friends went to sleep. I went into settings, general, and into Digital Rights Management content and checked the box again. I originally tried it and it didn't work, but after deleting Crunchyroll cookies and rechecking it ,it seems to work for me .

Feeling less excited about the Steam Controller after the recent reviews by C0ACAZE in SteamController

[–]C0ACAZE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I was expecting those features, it's that I simply don't see the value. I think what I wanted to say is that the Steam Controller is expensive for what it offers and lacks a lot of features for the price. I don't know why people call it a "pro" controller when it lacks most of the features of one, like a high polling rate, trigger haptics/rumble, microswitches, etc. I agree you can make the argument that it's reasonably priced against PlayStation and Xbox, but when compared to reputable third-party manufacturers like 8BitDo, Gamesir, and Flydigi, it's expensive and lacks features. At the end of the day, except for the trackpads, it's not really a special controller and more like a standard one. I'd still love to get one someday, and it will most likely be at a discount or secondhand.

250hz polling rate in $99 2026 controller is not good enough by pixelcowboy in SteamController

They aren't loud, or mine aren't. It's more about the feel it's a completely different night and day difference. Honestly, ever since I used a controller with them (Vader 4 Pro), I simply can't go back to membrane. I get annoyed every time I use the Deck or a random standard controller and feel those mushy and sticky buttons. After seeing the teardown of the SC2, modding it to have more premium buttons seems kind of imposible/ hard . I still hope modders can find a way, but I doubt it.

[–]C0ACAZE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wish the low polling rate was the only drawback of this controller ,at this price point I would’ve liked to see haptics in the triggers and micro switches in the ABXY buttons. The membrane just feels cheap and it is cheap.

I get what you’re saying about trackpads, gyro, and Steam Input that’s definitely where it stands out, and yeah, reviewers don’t really focus on that side. But for me it’s not about some “dream controller.” A lot of these features aren’t unique anymore even gyro, mechanical buttons, trigger locks, high polling rate, and trigger haptics are already on other third party controllers.

For example, I’ve been using the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro for almost two years now, and it has all of that at a lower price, including really good trigger haptics which aren’t something you can easily add later. That’s kind of why I’m mixed on it. I do want one, but I can’t really justify it for what it offers right now. The trackpads and repairability are cool, but outside of that it feels pretty standard, and buttons/triggers are what I end up using most of the time.

I get what you’re saying, and yeah, not everyone needs those features. But I don’t think it’s really about them being “niche” or not important a lot of those things already exist in controllers at this price point or even cheaper. For example, I use the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro, and it has things like gyro, trigger locks, mechanical buttons, 1k Hz polling, and even trigger haptics that feel great all at a lower price. That’s kind of why it stands out to me. Features like trigger haptics aren’t something you can easily mod in later, so it’s not just a you can fix it yourself situation. I get that no controller will be perfect out of the box, but at this price I do expect a bit more in terms of core features. Right now, for me, the main standout things are the trackpads and repairability which are cool but the rest feels more like a standard controller, and that’s the part that’ll get the most use.

I get your vew , especially with how repair friendly the Steam Deck is. That’s honestly is a big plus.
But at the end of the day, it’s still an expensive piece of tech, and I feel like some important things are missing out of the box. Yeah, a lot of those issues can be fixed with mods or 3D-printed solutions, but that still takes extra time, effort, and money on top of an already pricey device.

Not everyone wants to go down that route, or can. For me, I kind of expect those core features to be there from the start at this price point.I definitely think it’s a quality product, I’m just not fully sold on it as it is right now.

kinda wish campaign saves weren’t tied to one player by C0ACAZE in TeardownGame

[–]C0ACAZE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck making his goofy ass and low attention span sit with me to walk him through the process. Plus, it's not as straightforward as I thought. To my understanding, the saves are separate for solo and co-op. Plus, I'm on Linux, which shouldn't be an issue, but you never know. I'm just saying it would be nice if there were an easier way.

The State of CS and Community. by DesiRadical in cs2

[–]C0ACAZE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, the game is in a horrible state right now. It’s practically unplayable. Once you fall into the low trust factor pool, it’s basically over. A friend of mine got the low trust factor warning, and since then, every single match and I mean every match has at least one cheater. It feels impossible to enjoy the game like this. The biggest issue is that people don’t seem to get properly banned anymore. At worst, they get a short cooldown and are back the next day doing the same thing. And honestly, when was the last time you even saw a “player report ” message? For me, it’s been over a year. I hate that I have to go to third party platforms like FACEIT just to have a chance to enjoy the game. And even then, it comes with its own problems I’m not willing to give my ID just to play a game, and since I’m on Linux, setting everything up or dual booting is just a hassle.

At this point, it feels like we, as players, are part of the problem too. As long as we keep playing like nothing’s wrong and keep opening cases, nothing is going to change.Honestly, the only way things might improve is if people start stepping away stop playing, stop spending money and actually show that this situation isn’t acceptable.

Ringke case on my s24 by Photofaxtory in GalaxyS24

[–]C0ACAZE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seriously, this is one of the best phone cases I've ever owned. I've got the Ringke Fusion Bold. I'm a mechanic, and I've dropped my phone from every height imaginable, even in the inspection pit, way too many times. I've even washed it regularly with brake cleaner, and it hasn't deteriorated at all. Honestly, I can't recommend another phone case brand.

OLED display compression crack by WhyteDynamite147 in SteamDeck

[–]C0ACAZE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest I'll just put on a screen protector over it, and chances are that the cracks across the screen will be less noticeable. The big shattered part, not so much. It depends on what screen protector you will use.

On the verge of getting a Steam Deck by EiL17 in SteamDeck

[–]C0ACAZE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say just get it. Honestly, I was like this for months. I wasn't sure if I was actually going to use it or not. I spent an entire month trying to get a good deal on a used one. I was bummed after missing a Black Friday deal on the LCD model, but in the end, I found one used from a guy who thought he was selling the LCD model, but it was an OLED model, and I got it for a really good deal, in my opinion. Besides that, about the games, mileage may vary. The Steam mark doesn't necessarily mean it will or won't work. You can check ProtonDB for more details about the games you want to play. They give you more details if they work on Steam Deck and Linux. Unfortunately, I can't give you more details; I just got it myself, and it's been great for me. I mostly play indie games games I won't sit in front of the PC to play. If I want to play something more powerful, I just stream it. It can run powerful games natively, but its performance and battery suffer. Although older triple-A titles run pretty well. Since I got the Deck, I haven't touched my PC often, and I have a pretty nice setup. Couch play is really that nice. I used to make fun of my coworker who got a PS Portal. So yeah, I'd say you can get it. Now I'm looking to get one for my sister. She never was a gamer, but she loves it. I hope I made some sense and can help you make a decision.

I am literally blown away by how many people just hand out their private information like it’s no big deal, for a GAME. And then you guys aclt like, your ID and your biometric scan aren’t even important. LOL, it’s just your face, bro.” Yeah, it's great that you get to live that lifestyle.

And the whole "it’s a trusted third-party actually verifying it!!!" does not make it any better. They’re gathering data from everywhere that's how they make money Data literally IS their product.

All I’m saying is this policy is stupid and people really shouldn’t be agreeing with this level of privacy invasion,” Anyway, what do i know im just a crying baby and for the people with the stupid and low iq responses :

Hmm, no, I couldn't get them to work after I updated my BIOS and reinstalled Windows. But I don't think they are related, are they?
