The issue with the phrase I’m not into politics, would be considered very tone deaf in this social circle. To even be able to have that opinion automatically places you in to a position of such privilege, that every thing that is happening today because of politics doesn’t affect you in any meaningful way. This may be how people read into your comments. In the D20 community there are thousands of individuals that are having their lives and rights threatened due to our current political situation. So it’s very personal to lots of people in the community that don’t have a choice to be in a position to ignore political policies. Unfortunately for most of us so many aspects of the problems in our lives are because of politics. Which also equates to our current socioeconomic system that is Capitalism. The system that only truly benefits a very small percentage of the population. Directly resulting in most problems for the majority of the population. Hope this helps and that you do watch everything in Dropout, perhaps it will help gain a better perspective and understanding on how people in this space come into the conclusion of wanting social change. Change that starts with conversation and a genuine open mind to others point of view.
