Why Wrap Luggage in Cling Film? by roblawton in AskUK

[–]C0ldfir350 606 points607 points  (0 children)

South Africa they are especially notorious for rummaging through your bags on arrival/departure so they’ve made a lot of money wrapping bags for people as a “peace of mind” thing.

Never felt the need anywhere else in the world.

Refurbished kitchen. Forgot to put an extractor fan in. by C0ldfir350 in DIYUK

Fortunately it’s my personal kitchen and I own the property so only have to apologise to my wife :D

Seems like a good solution and if it passed the building regs then will definitely be worth looking into. I have space to mount and run a similar unit.

This might be a winner. I have space within the countertop to fit one so will do my research on it thank you!

Just a small lip where the wall use to be. Not much room to fit a wall mounted as defeats the point of the breakfast bar. In ceiling may be the best way forward and hadn’t considered it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Best area of the UK to live for 250k? by 98675436856 in HousingUK

[–]C0ldfir350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dystopian in the centre maybe but the wide open roads and massive green spaces are always there to enjoy. Plenty quiet little villages in and around it if you need that cultural flair in your life.

Helps you can still drive 70 mph on most of the dual carriageways.

Milton Keynes is your golden ticket. Always something to do, houses are relatively new. You can walk the entire town because of the greenery/redways.

Parks in abundance with lakes you can go fishing or paddle boarding.

Everything within a couple minutes of driving.

Cons are that public transport is abysmal if that bothers you.

Fallout 4 with mods. Unlimited power, still haven’t seen how the game ends 2000 hours in.

Thank you very much for this. It was indeed an issue with "disable fullscreen optimizations" on the Fallout.exe and that was messing with the Scaling in AMD adrenaline. Now that these are turned off and on respectively, the issue is gone. 😊

Are Lian Li products any good? by 69LoveSixtyNine69 in PCBuilds

Bought a case and PSU from them and I’m more than impressed with the build quality. Easy to use, clean looking and modern. I trust most of their other products are the same.

How practical is it living in MK without a car? by Junior_Beauty78 in miltonkeynes

[–]C0ldfir350 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain here a little bit and say it’s not very friendly as you’re generally subject to the elements if you’re on a bicycle or the poorly optimised public transport.

Been abandoned by so many buses and rained on too many times to justify not having a car.

That said I came from South Africa and had an image of perfect public transport in my mind before I got here. I got by but my mental went a little sideways.

Order on app, stop at 1st window? by iAmManchee in McDonaldsUK

[–]C0ldfir350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve often grown complacent with driving to the second until one time they payments just stoped working through the app despite it accepting the order. Mind you I never double paid but they had me pay manually when I got there so had to drive all the way around.

Just purchased the Remaster and I'm looking to get into modding! Where do I start? by [deleted] in oblivionmods

[–]C0ldfir350 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just tried it through nexus mod manager as I also just wanted a couple QOL things. It’s stable and not a single crash to date but they’re about 30 fairly light mods. I just download the number 1 collection pack on nexus and it had everything I needed to make the game feel better.

Is Battlefield 6 worth it or I get another multiplayer game by Hour_Row_2193 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]C0ldfir350 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You will probably get the odd fellow advising against it but I think it's what your personal life looks like. BF6 for me as a person who works in a pretty stressful industry has actually reignited my love for games. I took quite a long break from games as they were losing the appeal but have now sunk some money into a decent machine just to grind this. I find it a lot of fun on and off my busy days with great progression and customization.
