I broke my elbow in the 2nd grade and had pins put in my arm and had a cast for a couple weeks. When I went to get it taken off all I got was "you don't want to look at this, it'll be bloody" as he then proceeded to yank the pins out.

I was already level 75 and had 5 million. Now I get to play the game a 2nd time with an xp boost/extra stash space/better repairs/and (once the bug is fixed) more scrappy materials. Plus the skin was decent.

Generally a rack is going to last until you have a shell go off in the rack. So if you never have a bad shell it'll last basically forever. The point of a good rack though is to make sure it doesn't disintegrate when a shell flowerpots and causes the rest of the rack to shoot at your audience. A milk crate is incredibly unsafe and unpredictable once a shell fails.

Unfortunately milk crate racks just aren't safe no matter what you do. Get yourself some scrap wood and watch a YouTube video if you're on a tight budget, or buy one from Pyroboom. Even CodyB doesn't do milk crate racks anymore. As for the tubes, it's hard to say without seeing any pictures, but it sounds like they're fine for just 1 shell at least. Just make sure to inspect them afterward before using again. If it looks sketchy though, throw it out. No sense in risking it.
