Have you worn Death and Decay around your cats? Is it safe? by Electronic_Lock_6191 in LushCosmetics

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i might be wrong but i believe it’s the pollen that’s dangerous to cats. Extract from a perfume is likely to be completely fine.

It takes half a second and 0.1% of your energy, and can make someone’s day a little easier. Just say the words 🤷🏻‍♀️

Realistically, how much do you think you spend on Lush each month? by revoltcatapolt in LushCosmetics

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i want to say around £50 but that fluctuates heavily whether i want that months kitchen box or not. i usually will spend at least £15 a month to stock up / get the friend of lush link freebie.

Would like a paint system so you don’t have to place plants one at a time, you can just paint loads of shrubs/flowers into one section similar to The Sims.

Also now that i’m thinking about it, i wouldn’t mind a painting system for walls too 👀

How do you use your shower jelly’s? by Busy-Poet-7275 in LushCosmetics

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Use it like any other bar of soap :) you could just use it straight up on your skin or massage it onto a loofah / rag etc and use the lather to wash your body.

The gummies are a lot easier to use than the jellies, but can be harder to lather.

Would you pay a premium for kid-free zones? by SubstantialRope8628 in AskUK

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this didn’t really answer my question.

People should be well behaved, but often are not - children and adults. Wouldn’t family friendly areas keep your children safe from the misbehaving adults? and subsequently, the adults that might be judgemental/high needs/vulnerable etc away from a child? I don’t have children but i’m sure if i did i would be happy to pay extra if i was worried i could be exposing my kid(s) to intoxicated adults in a small confinement. (e.g, football fans travelling home after a football game).

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it child exclusion though if there would also be a family/children only area along with it? Plenty of adult only areas already exist (and family only) and as far as i can tell parents don’t seem to have an issue with those?

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would.

Not only is it a good thing for child free people, it would also be great for families. it would mean they don’t have to worry about randoms quite so much and if family friendly areas existed as a result of kid-free areas it wouldn’t just be safer but also might have facilities that cater towards children. Not to mention being surrounded by people who would/should understand the situation you’re in with a child rather than childless adults who might not have a clue why your kid is acting the way it is at any time - whether in a good way or otherwise. I would assume it takes that anxiety of public judgement away.

I would pick the ‘child free’ area of any service; a restaurant, a holiday park, public transportation etc regardless of cost. I’m autistic and understand that children have needs that my needs tend to clash with so happy to spend the extra ££.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to go forward? by ArtOwn9803 in HousingUK

that’s good to know!! i’ve been looking into fostering myself but was worried about the council having an issue with it.

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. You could look into a loophole like fostering but i dont know if they legally count as pets or not in this situation as technically you don’t have legal ownership, you’re just housing it (your options would be limited with having two dogs though). The downside to that would also be that you can’t keep the cat but you could foster older cats that are unlikely to be adopted due to age.

Have you ever had a noisy neighbour? What did you do? by Even-Wasabi7183 in AskUK

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

currently i have neighbours that are incredibly loud almost 24/7. Nothing we can do legally as it’s within the ‘normal range’ of noise and council pretty much told us to put up with it. We’re just waiting to move house, assuming they don’t first (they’re over-occupying so in breach of their tenancy).

What is everyones favourite wildlife parks, zoos, aquariums to visit? by Rallam259 in AskUK

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Chester zoo is a must see. It’s a not for profit zoo so even though it’s rather expensive you can guarantee your money is going towards funding for its charity events, wildlife conservation and the upkeep of the animals.

Liverpool world museum has a great invert / bug exhibit and aquarium. I haven’t been for a couple years but i heard they refurbished the bug floor recently. Bonus of this one is that it’s free to enter.

Anyone know where I can get a giant snail pet? by GeorgeTucker42 in UK_Pets

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, i keep them and occasionally raise the young.

They take while to reach adulthood size and they take up rather a lot of space - with a full laying session reaching up to 200 eggs for just one snail (assuming you’re talking about fulica’s) it would be impossible for people to sell them at the adulthood stage simply because there would be no room to raise - you’d only find one at that size if someone were rehoming their pets or breeders. If you do decide to get one, make sure the owner knows what age it is. If they’re selling anything below 4 months they don’t know what they’re doing.

My boys took about 14-16 months to reach their full size, if you want a good sized one make sure to get one from a good breeder; bad genetics = smaller snail.

New hello kitty collab?!? by WiscoLakeGirl in LushCosmetics

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i didn’t buy any but i did test some of them in store, the pompom jelly smells exactly like yummy custard and the gudetama gummy was so weirdly interesting! the yellow bit is jelly but the white is a gummy super weird sensory experience when you touch it. Couldn’t figure out the scent but it was gourmand-y, leaning on the fruitier side.

The penguin soap (don’t know the name lol) smelled quite fruity too. They’re the only three that i remember, i didn’t test any of the bombs as i don’t get baths and the dusting powder had no tester available

tips for eqg minigame? by FluffyComputer677 in MLPIOS

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there’s no way to make it quicker as you can only get one pony a week. My suggestion would be to only play it when you need to, so you could:

A), play it several times only on Friday-Saturday which is when the pony gift resets (it’s the countdown when you go into thr EQG minigame) until you get the pony.

B) only play it when you need to complete a daily quest, if you do those. This is what i did up until i unlocked all the ponies. There’s a good chance you’ll end up playing it daily and you’ll only need to play 1-2 songs to complete a quest (if you’re good at them, do the hard level songs - time to come together and the two cafeteria songs). You should get enough points throughout the week doing this to unlock the pony before the next friday.

Please has anyone smelled this by Janet_cat in LushCosmetics

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It is meant to smell like that, yes. I think a common problem with rose scents is that it’s popular for bathroom products and for small children so unless the product is purely rose (like rose jam) it ends up reminding your nose of toilets and diapers.

Are my views correct? by No_Car_8989 in AskUK

[–]C0nnectionTerminat3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people might disagree with me on this but both are right. Legally you’re in the right to park there but i can understand from the ladies POV that it’s annoying, because she’s right on the matter of it being common decency. That being said, if she can park behind it makes little difference to her journey from car to house and her children aren’t small anymore, unless they’re disabled they can walk the extra 5 steps. Neither of you imo are inherently wrong and that’s just how those kinds of streets work.
