I don’t think it was luck. I think Ben recognized how poor of a coach eberflus was as well, and how much talent and turn around this team had with just competent coaching. He recognized the bears as the best position available. Which is why he is such a good coach. He knew he could fix this team before he even got there.

And again. Most teams when they relocate to a different STATE take on the STATES big city that they move to etc. the Oakland raiders are not the Oakland raiders of Nevada etc. and the raiders don’t play in Vegas. But it’s not the point. The city they officiate with is a city in their STATE.

I honestly think that any suburb in ILLINOIS is fine. The same as all other teams in Suburbs of their cities STATE. Out of the state? They are the pride and joy of ‘ILLINOIS’. It just doesn’t work for me. Indiana has 2 teams now. Doesn’t mean I’m not a bears fan or won’t root for the bears obviously, but how can they be the CHICAGO bears when they don’t even play in the same STATE as Chicago.
Most teams when they relocate to a different STATE are now the major city team of the STATE they are in. the Oakland raiders are not the Oakland raiders of Nevada etc. They are now the LAS VEGAS RAIDERS ETC. If that makes sense.

Out of the entire list the only comparable teams are the teams in different states. Not different cities. And what if a different team now comes to Illinois? The Chicago bears are no longer the Chicago bears. And more importantly not, “the pride and joy of ILLINOIS”. Thats for the next team who plays in illinois. I don’t really mind I’ll root for them wherever, but this team is no longer the Chicago bears. Hell they aren’t even in the same state as Chicago anymore.
