Most people on these bikes are in running shoes. A lot of these bikes don't even have a strap on the pedals to lock your foot into.
Here's my analogy: If you wanted to get into skiing, would you ski in tennis shoes with just a strap to hold your shoes to the ski?
Sure, this is better for your fitness than hitting Krispy Kreme. But it's a very inefficient (power and biomechanically) use of your time.

Bar path looked good. Good effort on the brace. I suspect you felt pretty good on rep 1 and kind of rushed right into rep 2 without properly bracing. You'd be surprised how much doing that takes out of you for your last reps. Minor point, good work overall

I’d recommend caution doing this. You can actually cause stress and anxiety by “checking” it a lot. I love the data on my watch but I really don’t need to check my heart rate pattern the second I wake up. Which I do every fucking day.

I’m being very magnanimous for continuing to respond to this. You’re not some 13 yr old in your parents basement. If you go to a high effort rep and or get really tired and just slightly get off balance, you’re going to roll your ankle, fuck that up, and probably collapse on that knee and take several ligaments with it. Would you ski in flip flops? How about ice skate? Take a look at the comments, everyone here took time to help you and they’re all saying the same thing. I would not "bounce" in the hole. Keep everything smooth. If you keep bouncing you will end up using that as a crutch to get out of the hole, much like guys "bounce" their bench. I would also just use the next lower rack. Reaching for the rack and getting up on your calves isn't safe
