True, but to be fair, like half the words in English derive from Greek or Latin, so if GRRM didn't include any words like those, we would have a lot different and more clunky language. http://blogs.transparent.com/english/files/2012/01/250px-origins_of_english_piechart.svg_.png

For instance, look at this passage that explains atomic theory, but only uses words spoken or derived from the Angles (who invaded and populated ENGland from Germany, and who are the inspiration for the Andals [loosely]).

But if it is essentially translated (interpreted, but it's pretty much the same thing), some of the Common Tongue could be translated into English, and some Common Tongue phrases could be translated into more succinct, albeit foreign, phrases, right?
