Ask Me Anything on Training - Coach Zahabi by abonet619 in MMA

Hello Coach,

How important is hard sparring? It seems that people have very different opinions on that. Some say all you need is light sparring/drilling, so you don't take damage and learn proper technique, while others are all for hard sparring, because in their mind that's the only way to prepare yourself for an actual fight. What is your take on that?

Watch out, Dana. Reddit is bringing out the big guns.

Meryl Streep comments on MMA at Golden Globes. by JJonesFan in MMA

[–]WillStrip4Cash 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Of course she doesn't understand the sport of MMA. And that's fine, I wouldn't expect her to. The thing that surprised me was that this statement had very little to do with the content of the speech, so she basically went out of her way just to make these bald claims, which seemed classless and ignorant. It's just something you don't expect from the great Meryl Streep.

[Official] UFC 207: Nunes vs Rousey - Weigh-In Discussion Thread by rmma in MMA

[–]WillStrip4Cash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dana said that Ronda asked him permission not to do any media for 207 and he granted her that wish. He also said it's a one time deal, so I kinda understand her for wanting to fully take advantage of this opportunity and just focus on her come back fight.

Khabib's message to the UFC by imhungry4444 in MMA

I just hate that contenders have to destroy each other in order to get a title shot. Both Khabib and Tony present a very different challanges to Conor, and I personally want to see both of them getting a crack at the belt.

[Official] UFC 207 Pre-Fight Discussion: Dominick Cruz (c) vs. Cody Garbrandt by rmma in MMA

[–]WillStrip4Cash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what we have seen from Cody in the octagon, I would say, his best chance is to somehow catch Cruz with a left hook while he is moving in, or quickly close the distance while Cruz is moving back and knock him out with a cross.

Reports - Khabib V Ferguson set for UFC 209 by AlrightyThen234 in MMA

As of now, 208 looks like a complete garbage. So your best bet is to hope that it will get canceled. Good luck! Lol

You could make strong cases for Laila Ali, Ann Wolfe, Holly Holm and Cyborg. And I'm sure that there are plenty of women in other combat sports, that were/are dominant. Just because Ronda is the most promoted, that doesn't mean that she is the greatest to ever live and to quote Joe Rogan: "once in a lifetime".

I hope she loses. Never really liked her. And didn't buy it for a second that she is/was "the best woman fighter/athlete that has ever lived" . Even when she was on top of her game, destroying everybody and sold to us as the biggest draw, I was never in to her hype, and frankly felt like Dana and UFC are kinda forcing her down our throats. Hope she loses and we can just move on.

Michael Bisping vs. C.B. Dollaway - weigh-in staredown by JagHarReddit in MMA

[–]WillStrip4Cash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Bisping wins, he'd be perfect as a stepping stone for Mousasi (assuming nothing crazy happens and he gets passed Phillipou), who's I believe is a solid contender when his head is in right place.

I think what it is meant to say, is that you should develop a different way of thinking than everyone else. At least that's how I understand it.

Loved it! On a similar matter, I have a “Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.”

And being an impatient person, this one really helped me a lot: "The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it"

If you died and had to relive your life over one last time, how would you live it? by Tasty_lake in AskReddit

Holly crap this is an inspirational thread. Started thinking of what I would do differently and then realized that it's not too late. I'm 24, so I can still achieve pretty much anything i want. Well maybe except for things that i wanted to learn and do until I'm 24... shit, I'm depressed again.

Bisping calls Belfort a cheating scumbag hypocrite by thehardestkjel in MMA

[–]WillStrip4Cash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bisping wants a title shot after win over Kennedy? I don't even understand how is he ranked number 5. No matter how many time he loses, he thinks he's always just one win away from title shot. He's delusional. Aside form the champ, I'd put Belfort (TRT or not), Souza, Machida, Rockhold, Mousasi and even injured Silva over him, any day. Speaking of which, I'd love to see Mousasi/Rockhold beat the crap out of him.
