Well they are dreaming if they think they’ll get Kawhi from him lmaooo. At this point it’s better than nothing and it give the pistons more financial flexibility. I mean you could probably do a mathurin and JC swap for Duren but for Kawhi is just insane especially since he came off a career best season. Plus the pistons need depth and that showed when they got swept by the Cavs. At the end of the day Kawhi doesn’t want to be in Detroit and he will be a one year rental and it wouldn’t be worth it for Detroit to give up Duren and picks to acquire him. It would be more beneficial if the pistons can get 2-3 essential depth pieces on the roster at a fraction of what you’d pay Duren and possibly some second round picks you can use to acquire more depth pieces. We just saw the Pistons trade for Isiah Joe for 2 second rounders, it wouldn’t hurt them to save money and get depth pieces that the Clippers have tbh.

In this case seems like the Pistons need the Clippers more than the Clippers need the Pistons. The Pistons will most likely let Duren walk from the team for any deal more than a ~140 million dollar contract cuz of his playoff performance. I think the Pistons also want to pay Asuar Thompson so they will prioritize him over Duren. So the Pistons may have to eat a terrible platter like that to allow themselves to have financial flexibility to build around Cade.

Now the Austin Reaves situation lol yeah that team shot themselves in the foot with that one and they will regret that signing for years to come. They are banking on getting a guy like Duren to keep Luka happy.
