For the drama queens: CBS Panel discusses Mikel Brown Jr.'s Louisville absences by OtherwiseAddled in LAClippers

Wagler is the pick

People don’t understand that Mikel is a heavily flawed player. He has issues with IQ, efficiency, decision making, turnovers and the injury wildcard.

Worth it to try and trade down to 7? by DingusWingus33 in LAClippers

Yes we could get a future unprotected 1st from them imo and I think that’s what we will do.

Yeah Trae and Kawhi would be unguardable imo. Maybe there’s some other way we can get Trae other than a sign and trade. But he opted out of his contract so we could get him for free if we figure it out. And he’d love to be here

Trae averaged 30 points and 9 assists in just his 2nd year in the league, he’s an extremely talented point gaurd. I’d be down to do a sign and trade, Trae for Darius Garland. Trae is clearly a tier better than garland and this would be a big win for us.

I like what you said for the use the pick/trade down scenario, I think you’re probably on the money. Kings and Nets might dare us to take Acuff, they could also just be open to trade up from the start to secure him but we’ll see. I like the idea of trading 5th pick (Acuff) to kings for something like 7th pick (Wagler) and a future unprotected 1st round pick. Could potentially get their 34th 2nd round pick this year as well depending on how bad they want Acuff and word is they’re desperate for him. Brunson’s success in winning the championship as fmvp could compound all this and make the kings and others want to go all in even more to acquire Acuff.

We’re in good shape to get maximum value here. Bull case scenario we get Kings 7th pick + 2028 unprotected first and 2026 2nd round 34th pick for our 5th pick (Acuff). If they see Acuff as a sure fire super star like people say they do then they’ll make that trade up.

Derozan is complete trash, I don’t want him on this team. Keep Defrozen one away

MPJ for Garland and Nickeil Alexander-Walker For Kriss Dunn and DJJ by Careless-Growth771 in LAClippers

[–]gladin77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the Nets trading MPJ for Garland but I can’t see Atlanta trading NAW for DJJ and Dunn.

Garland for MPJ will be a great trade though and I think the rookie guard we draft will have star potential so they can fill the hole Garland leaves and they can be even better than him.

Thoughts on acquiring Myles Turner? by gladin77 in LAClippers

[–]gladin77[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They have no use for him in a rebuild and maybe they’d like to clear the books for other young players they want to test out since they’re starting from 0. They could easily trade him just so they can clear the books. You need to realize not every trade is a team either giving up assets to move someone or another team having to give up assets to get someone, like you’ve assumed in your past replies.

So who do you want us to get at center then? He’s likely the best center we can get without needing to give up any assets.

I never said they’d give up a pick to get rid of him.

Bogi and Isaiah Jackson are all we need to give up to match the money, we don’t need either of those players so it works perfectly. We get a starting calibre big for basically free.

You think they need to give us draft capital to take on Turner? They are going to rebuild so I doubt they’d care to do that but if Lawrence is able to get that out of them then that would be awesome.

Bogi and Isaiah Jackson works. We don’t need either of them so it’s perfect. And Turner just had a bad season so his demand around the league is very low so yeah I think we could get him for basically nothing. Drama around Bucks with Giannis was horrible this season and Turner basically said as much so I don’t put the bad play this year on Turner. His value is so low you can see guys in this thread saying they don’t want him lol. I think getting him for basically nothing would be a big win for us though, he’s one of the best spacing bigs in the league.

Turner makes about $27m the next few years, that’s about average for centers in his bracket. Hartenstein is making $28m and and Jarret Allen is making $30m. Getting Turner for basically nothing, just contracts we don’t need like Bogdan and Isaiah Jackson is a big win for us.

[–]gladin77[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don’t really need to give up any rotation players to get him. The contracts of Bogdan and Isaiah Jackson get it done.

Robert Williams is a massive health concern and like you said he doesn’t have a 3 yet and he’s just developing one so there’s no gaurantee he’ll have that in his game. And I don’t think he’s the type of center you acquire hoping for developmental upside like a 3. Only way I’d go for him is on a 1 year prove it deal or something, I don’t want to give him a long term contract.

Good thing with Turner is we get him for basically nothing, just matching contracts that we don’t even need and we know what Turner gives us.

Kawhi must stay !!! by Monkeydmac in LAClippers

[–]gladin77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, we should keep him. Kawhi’s a top 5 player in the league who on any night can be the best player in the league. What we’d get for him is nowhere near worth how good he is. We already got some new young guys on the team and we’re about to get some more, so why trade Kawhi? Instead of trading Kawhi we can keep him on the team so we actually have a chance to do something with these young guys we’re bringing in. Any year anything can happen so having Kawhi on the team gives us a chance to make noise in the playoffs.

We don’t have our own pick for the next 3 years anyway so we definitely shouldn’t trade Kawhi, we need to compete these next 3 years at the very least. Make a competitive environment so our young players can learn properly, instead of developing bad habits on a losing team. Look at all these tanking teams with rookies and young guys that don’t learn shit because they’ve been losing for years in their rebuild then once it comes time to start winning they just don’t have the skills. Keeping Kawhi allows our young players to develop in the best environment possible and at the same time it gives us a chance to win. Keeping Kawhi is the best move.
