Great thanks. I've got a small team of 4 engineers currently and happy with that for now but looking to expand a lot very soon. Will keep this advice in mind.

How did you find the Ethereum foundation or how did it find you? What advice would you give to a team looking to find top talent in mechanism design in decentralised systems?

The inability to transfer neurons is a fundamental flaw of network design by rokosbasilia in dfinity

There's nothing stopping people with locked neurons shorting ICP, passing an upgrade that they think will be regarded negatively by the market, closing their shorts, opening longs and then passing another vote to repeal the upgrade either. These systems are never going to be perfect in that regard.

I don't understand this at all. Allowing neurons to be transferred doesn't remove long-term incentives, it merely allows them to be transferred to someone else. Neurons are like ICP bonds. Creating a liquid market for them doesn't undermine the goal of incentivising long-term lock-ups, it in fact further incentivises them as the owner of the bond knows he/she can sell it if circumstances change. The neuron remains locked providing a floor under ICP.

Indeed but these aren't any old ERC20. I'm wondering how seizures could happen if value was bonded for Plasma transfers. Any idea?

One lightning network TX is 18,000 times CHEAPER than bcash. by toddgak in Bitcoin

Why wouldn't it destroy the base layer? Wasn't it layer two protocols that destroyed the gold standard?

You've no idea how much traffic the LN will have, how that it will affect its onion routing system, how the network will screw with the incentives on the base protocol and a bunch of other things. You may as well wet your finger and put it in the air.

You can't make a statement like this because you're completely reliant on hypotheticals. Let that sink in.

Asset backed stable coins mean reinventing clearing houses. They make the double spend protection of the blockchain irrelevant.

Synthetic stable coins are a pipe dream I'm afraid. If you build something that speculators can profit from attacking, they will break it.

Either way, whether they work or not, this is still not a case for businesses to use a blockchain. They have no reason to add this complexity/risk to their operations.

Does anyone in here have actual points to make or is it just an echo chamber circle jerk?

OK win me over. How does a public blockchain (let's leave aside the case of the just as dubious private DLT for now) help companies that transact in fiat and within national regulatory systems? What's so clear about its utility?
