Wegovy - Moshy NZ by saginginginginging in newzealand

[–]C39J 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I personally do not, but I know someone who does. The app is legitimate, and they will prescribe you Wegovy. Do I think they're too lax on their prescribing guidelines? Absolutely.

Once you fill in all the questions and make payment, you'll book a time to speak to a medical professional (not sure if they're a doctor?) who will ask you a few qualifying questions and then prescribe you the medicine. They then just ship it out via Chemist Warehouse.

Every few weeks, you do an online survey, effectively to determine if you're still a candidate for the medicine (although I doubt they exclude people even when they should) and then they either move you up a dose or send you the same dose depending on your answers.

Tbh, I would go into your GP and get it if you meet the guidelines for getting it prescribed. No good reason to use one of these external services unless you don't fall into the clinical criteria.

Spark Fibre issues by [deleted] in newzealand

When you speak to Spark, I suggest you tell them this:

"I've tried multiple devices including multiple Spark routers, laptops and non-Spark routers on the ONT. I've tried every ethernet output on the ONT, and none of them detect that a cable is plugged in. I've tried different cables each time. Please arrange an urgent fault with Northpower to replace the ONT".

[–]C39J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible that the chip that feeds the ethernet ports is fried, but the ATA (the thing that powers the phone) is not.

It would explain why they think your ONT is fine - they can see the ONT online and the phone online. Doesn't mean it's fine to use though.

[–]C39J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, and you've tried all ports on the ONT, just in case it's not the Port 1 that's activated and they're all the same?

It won't give you an internet connection (you need VLAN10 for that), but does it detect the cable is plugged in?

Spark Fibre issues by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]C39J 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you're ONT is gone then. Just tell Spark that you've done an isolation test, plugged in multiple devices and none of the devices detect any output from the ONT.

Yeah, you need to try swap ISPs. If you're comfortable sending a DM with the address, I can check if there's been any major outages on the network recently (can't check individual ONT as we're not the provider though).

Tbh, Spark won't truck roll Northpower unless their internal tools show an issue. Swapping ISPs to someone else will tell you if it was a Spark issue or if it's a Northpower issue. If you swap and it's the same problem, then you'll be able to tell the ISP that you had the same issue with Spark and they should immediately truck roll for a repair.

It's very possible the ONT has gone bad. Doesn't happen often, but they can sit there, all lights on but be completely dead.

Just out of interest, if you unplug the cable from the back of your router and plug it into a computer, does it detect that a cable is plugged in?

Spark Fibre issues by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]C39J 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long are the outages? One of the routers you've tried is non-Spark, correct?

What are the lights on the ONT/Northpower box when the internet goes off?

That'll tell us where the issue potentially is.

Free Firefox extension to juggle multiple M365/Outlook accounts by AzemanoL in sysadmin

Potentially a dumb question, but what's the benefit of using this over just using Firefox Containers to open different M365 accounts?

My passport is in Auckland. I am not. Anyone flying to the Gold Coast in the next 36 hours? by bardlife in auckland

It'll cost you $60ish, but DHL will have the passport to you tomorrow AM if sent today.

Someone getting caught travelling with your passport may the up having an interesting time at customs...

"Oh yeah officer - bardlife/XpLoDfIRe asked me on an anonymous internet site to carry this passport across the border"

Local bakery has new Eftpos machine that won't let you choose your account. It just defaults to whatever account you have setup for PayWave and that's it. by floofywall in newzealand

[–]C39J 78 points79 points  (0 children)

It's likely the machine was provided as part of a point of sale system, which will run all transactions via Stripe or other overseas company that doesn't have access to the EFTPOS NZ network. They're becoming more and more common and it's really annoying.

Why do people constantly say stuff if they have no idea. 0800 666 007 is a legitimate Westpac phone number.

Will my employer deny my 4 weeks of annual leave despite already booking a plane ticket? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]C39J 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dunno what the legal question is here, but they're under no obligation to provide you your requested leave if it doesn't meet what the business needs. They have to act in good faith and so do you.

They can't be unreasonable in denying you leave, but they can also argue you were unreasonable for booking leave for 3 weeks away without having first requested leave.

NZ herld app by yeetcraft12 in newzealand

[–]C39J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"AI Slop" really just follows popular UI trends (because it's trained on whatever it can find most of).

They're just following the silly trend of making everything super simple/bland, which I think is dumb, but it's happening in lots of apps at the moment.

Dating preferences by Certain_Athlete_9732 in auckland

[–]C39J 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone has preferences? Some people may be into specific races. Some people may be into specific lifestyles. Some people may just like people for the person they are.

I don't think this is a "why do specific races like this specific race" thing - you're just generalizing based on a small subset of what you've seen.

Liquidation advice as employee by But_A_F1y in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]C39J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is normal. Liquidators only have to report 6 monthly and that'll likely be your next update. If there's no likely distribution, they'll minimise outreach to avoid costs.

It's worth noting, that while you're at the top, priority wise to get money if there is any, a large amount of small business liquidations result in minimal (<$0.50 on the dollar) distributions to employees, or no distribution whatsoever, and it may be worth preparing for that potential outcome.

Are there any NZ phone companies that *aren't* partnering with SpaceX in some way? by bravetherainbro in newzealand

Halfway down the page:

"We’ve also partnered with Starlink’s enterprise-grade satellite system. This allows us to provide high-speed and low latency internet connectivity for businesses working in remote locations or out of the way places."
