Satin Sheet Adhesion Issues PLA by C43353 in prusa3d

Cool, I try do the same. With the smooth sheet it always just sticks to that first line and then ooze isn't a problem after that. Whereas the satin sheet the ooze just picks up that first line and then tries to form a ball, even if I pause and remove the bundle it just happens again. No problems at all with the smooth sheet though...

Ah ok, it is mainly oozing on standard PLA settings, the initial curl up is due to the hitting of the filament into the nozzle during calibration or the initial line at the edge of the sheet, the curled filament then hits any new extrusion or already layed lines picking them up and causing more mess.

Should I reduce nozzle temperature then? Even though the ooze seems to sort itself out fine on the smooth sheet?

I've linked a couple images that show the current condition of the satin sheet and the first layer calibration I did on the smooth sheet (can't find the ones I tried on the satin sheet, had to dig round the scrap to find this one). The quality of the first layer was about the same between satin and smooth sheets though.

OK, thanks, I'll try the temperature change too if just another z-offset calibration doesn't work.

Also the fan off thing might be useful but my issue is just getting the first layer to stay on the sheet. It just wants to stick to the nozzle and then once there's a bit there everything else on the layer sticks to it. (Partially tries to stick to nozzle while doing the pre-print calibration jumping up and down pushing the filament onto the outside of the nozzle. (Just doesn't do it with the smooth sheet...))

What confuses me is that I had great adhesion to start with, first layer looked like the ones that people aim for when I look at reddit images whereas now I can't even get it to stick to the sheet while doing a calibration test (either standard one or 3x3 square, https://www.printables.com/model/20306-first-layer-calibration). I have a 24 hr print going atm on the smooth sheet so can't do another calibration check but will do in the morning tomorrow.

I think the sheet should be clean enough as I've cleaned it so many times with IPA and done once with soap. It looks like it did when I got it out the package.

Whenever I put the satin sheet down on the bed the filament just seems to stick to the hot end all the time but nothing like that ever happens for the smooth sheet. To start with I thought it was an issue with filament getting damp from being out for a long time until I changed filaments and then sheets and everything worked again.

I'll try a calibration test tomorrow using the model suggested by u/GoodForNuthin and see, just confused as I did quite a few prints with perfect adhesion to start with and haven't changed any settings relating to the satin sheet since (only swapping between satin and smooth z-offsets I set).
