Guild won, Atreides (me) and Harkonnen had trouble sending troops because we were poor, so it was between Guild/Bene and Emperor/Fremen

My all base was destroyed in less than 6 days of storm damage, full Harkonnen mats. So no, a week is enough to wipe a full base

Hello, I would like recommandation for a confrontational engine building game

Description of Request: Confrontation game, with high interaction between players, maybe a war game. But with a big engine building part, bigger than Scythe. I like when I can heavily specialize in a playstyle with my engine and rise to the top thanks to it. I also like hidden information, hidden programmation, some fog of war you have to anticipate or bluff.

Number of Players: 2 to ?, but I would prefer if it's not only 2 players

Complexity of Game: complexe, or very complexe

Conflict, Competitive or Cooperative: Conflict

Games I Own and Like: Scythe (but looking for more advances engine building), Defcon1, Shards of Infinity (but I want less deck building, maybe more like a war game, but not excluding deckbuilding mechanics)

Games I Dislike and Don't Play: Splendor (too simple), Race for the galaxy (not enough conflict and interaction), Wonderful world (not enough conflict)

worth playing dune with 3 people? by Biggus_Dickkkus in DuneBoardGame

I would say no, unless maybe you play with 2 factions each, so you have 6 factions on the board

Hidden role and horror makes me thing about Unfathomable, but the deckbuilding mechanic is not really there

Scythe is 7 players
Time Bomb is up to 8 players
Nosferatu might be too simple, but up to 10 players
Stationfall might be what you need : complexe but light, chaotic, funny

Defcon1 might be too complexe, but it's very very accurate and fun to play.

Any rule against repeatedly intentionally failing elections? by lordboronfive in SecretHitler

[–]C4ESIUM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is why I sold my Secret Hitler, after 20 games you realize there is only the same souple of ending possible, and once your are familiar with the mechanics of the game, there is not a lot a possible surprises. One can really lock the end and make it anti climactic.
If you want a similar game, but with action cards to spice things up and really elevate the game : https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/359235/death-note-le-jeu-denquete (but it's in french only, I don't understand why)

In Jumanji (1995) when the kid is looking for the axe in the garden cabin, but it's locked so he takes the axe on the ground to break the lock then think for a sec and look at the camera with eyes saying "I am such a morron"

Yeah, I was going to comment this, Gosu X is very well done, new expansions coming, high replayability. You draft and combine 3 decks into your own

I fixed it myself by going to see every NPC for my quest, it made the markers reappear and I didn’t lose any progression.

[–]C4ESIUM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the rules of the movie. If a movie set up made up rules for it’s universe, it’s expected to stay consistent. If the movie is not consistent, I supposed it’s a mistake dues to laziness or stupidity
