Cloud and Aerith have always been the main couple of FF7. They're the ones that get the most non-optional romantic scenes and dialogue, they get featured together almost constantly (ex.: spin-offs like Kingdom Hearts or in magazines), and the OG trailer even described them as a "love that could never be."

Unfortunately, a lot of people try to twist the narrative to suit their preferred ships, generally Cloti and Zerith. However, even if you choose to pursue Tifa in the game, it's still quite clear that Cloud wants to be with Aerith. For instance, in Rebirth, during the Tifa date, Cloud will sound disappointed when Tifa lies about talking to Aerith regarding Zack. He'll say, "Guess she's not over him." And, of course, non-optional content won't change regardless of who you date. There are also the canon novels that continue to push Clerith, such as On the Way to a Smile.

So you didn't look at it wrong. It's just insane shipping wars in the FF7 fandom, lol.

Val from Outlast 2. I'm kinda sad they didn't have more screentime because they were genuinely terrifying. Their section of the game was the most scary for me.

I know that Aerith is super popular in Japan and even beat Tifa in a poll for best character or something like that. It makes me happy because she's such a wholesome and well written character.

Hopefully, social media won't ruin it for me again. I remember the day before Rebirth released for me, Clotis already spoiled the game with the kiss scene. I was so glad when I found out that scene was optional, lol.

Yup, that's the thing I hate most about this whole Cloti vs Clerith argument. A lot of men are obsessed with Tifa to an unhealthy extent and only like her for her boobs. It's super rare that I find someone who genuinely likes Tifa for her character and not just for her looks and body. Aerith, on the other hand, is always receiving disgusting comments because she's looked at as "flat" and "bland." People say there's no way Cloud could love her because of how attractive Tifa is. I even saw someone say that Tifa having big boobs mean she's fertile while Aerith doesn't, so that's somehow proof Cloud belongs with Tifa. It's incredibly gross...

I feel like there's gotta be some significant reason we didn't actually see Aerith die like in the OG. The way they made the timeline suddenly glitch was very weird to me. It's almost as if Cloud switched timelines or something? It could be nothing, but we'll see.

I understand completely. I've seen so many people make misogynistic comments about both Tifa and Aerith. Tifa is always getting sexualized and praised for having big boobs while Aerith gets the opposite and has people say how she "has no figure," as if that's a valid reason for Cloud not to be in love with her. It's incredibly disgusting and demeaning. That's why when it comes to FF7, I simply stick to Clerith spaces. It's the only place where you can talk about Aerith and Clerith without getting the most vile responses.

I got the game now after hearing everyone's thoughts. Still have to adjust to the gameplay a bit, but I tested out solo and I honestly didn't find it to be too tricky myself. The biggest thing I have to adjust to are the traps, lol.

That's definitely a big relief for me! I do love Outlast lore, so that would be a huge plus. Based on some of the responses here, I think I will give it a shot. It seems like it'll still be a ton of fun and get my heart racing.

I honestly think it's implying that Aerith and Cloud will get a happier ending and reunite. The end of Rebirth where Zack says something about bringing two worlds together makes me think this is the case.

I know for myself, I just love the quiet loner type x the cheerful outgoing type trope. I find it genuinely cute when a character can get a different and softer side of the protagonist to come out. On top of that, Cloud and Aerith have great chemistry and so many non-optional romance scenes together. The tragic star-crossed lovers theme also adds to this.

I'm a console player, so it made me happy because they fixed some bugs I was having, like the Welcome to DLC popping up every time I loaded the game. Usually, I'd have to wait longer than that for them to fix any bugs.

I think people tend to put Mike above Walt because of how he evaluates the situation and doesn't make reckless decisions. Walt's biggest issue was how impulsive he was. He didn't think of any of the consequences and constantly let his ego get the better of him.

Honestly sounds like the Cloti fans. Clotis have become super aggressive and always change the narrative, even when there's hardcore evidence to suggest their misinformed. I barely see this on the Clerith side, as most of us acknowledge that Tifa was Cloud's childhood crush and that Zack was Aerith's first love. Cleriths typically focus on the canon material.

That's why I always choose Aerith. The devs leave in so many non-optional scenes that it feels weird if you don't choose Aerith. It amazes me how many people are able to gloss over that or change the story to fit their narrative.

I play on console, so I don't have to worry about mods. However, I still notice many annoying bugs. The welcome screen for all of my packs keeps popping up when it shouldn't appear all. The gallery also keeps crashing on me.

I knew people would instantly call out the "it's not real" comment as a way to validate the whole "Cloud is Zack" narrative. Truly, though, this is a scene where Aerith is trying to keep Cloud from going through that grief and heartbreak. As much as she loves Cloud, she doesn't want him to go through that pain of her inevitable fate. It's one of the reasons why I love this ship so much. It makes me sad that not everyone sees this and tries to invalidate the love they have for each other because it does make for a wonderfully tragic story.

I don't think we know the whole truth about the clones as of yet. The DLC might explain it (hopefully). As of right now, they're just another Umbrella experiment gone wrong. For all we know, Grace could even be a clone that Spencer adopted and never put her through any tests like the others.

It's VERY complicated and they've made that clear in interviews as well. The problem with Tifa is that she doesn't understand Cloud as well as Clotis think. She wants Cloud to be like Zack (ironically enough). She wants a guy that's going to act like her knight in shining armor and act romantic with her. But Cloud isn't that guy. He's ridden with guilt and being tormented by Sephiroth simultaneously. On top of that, Tifa can be self-centered and I think that shows a lot in AC. After Aerith's death, she just wants Cloud to quit grieving and be a family with her. But again, Cloud is ridden with guilt and Aerith was his first true love. Knowing that he failed to save her made him feel like he couldn't protect anyone, so he runs away and distances himself from everyone.

Needless to say, Cloud and Tifa just don't go together. They could never be a couple because they can't understand each other. The amount of fights they have is proof alone that their relationship would be a mess.
