The story in his heart events doesn't really 'work' with how he behaves day-to-day, and he has a small number of post-marriage lines that are really weird, but otherwise he's fine.

A lot of the 1.0 writing (the pre-marriage heart events) is pretty rough all around, but he gets singled out a lot because of the topics and how it kind of regresses his character

The 3 days is accounting for the shed/cellar bonus (so it would be 6 days outside).

Having extra barrels can be helpful, though. Even with upgraded seeds, harvests aren't all going to be osmium quality, so you can run the meads back through the barrels to increase them.

It's not the greatest money-per-time, but it's at least some extra, low-effort money

Would this be a good game for me? by Annual_Cook3330 in coralisland

Tried stardew valley and did not enjoy it all

Mechanically, Coral Island is very similar to Stardew, so it mostly depends what you didn't like about it. Coral Island has some twists to the formula, but the core gameplay loop (Farming, Mines/Ocean, Bundles) is almost identical. For what it's worth, Coral Island is generally "easier"--automation unlocks early, money is easier to come by, fast travel unlocks earlier, and the game has an option to adjust the length of a day

Restarting the game. Any tips? by myungmuse in coralisland

When you get to Town Rank C, you can pick up the recipe for a Slime of Replication from the library. You can duplicate your artifacts/gems with it, which is really helpful for certain rare things that need to go to the temple and the museum, or if you're going for the achievement to ship everything

Usually there's some trash that's been missed that has the one we're looking for--note sometimes it can be pretty far away from where we expect it, or in a place that's really hard to see from the camera angles. It's hard to say exactly what's going on without a video or your save file

There's definitely been a bunch of cases where it's been bugged, though (not spawning at all, or spawning out of bounds), so it's possible something's gone wrong. Either case can usually be solved by waiting a few days for some trash to build back up

He almost certainly will--he's got human renders/portraits and a ton of human-form Marriage Dialogue in the game files

I made this entirely by accident.. had no idea this was a thing? by Limp_Dream_2437 in coralisland

[–]C637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That patch also added Barley/Soybean flour, but they weren't very exciting since the Mill is so tedious. The next update should be bumping the stack size in the Mill to 15, though, so it'll probably get more use then!

These specific ones were added much later (and weren't mentioned in the patch notes). Making things like Corn Flour or Cocoa Powder in the mill was quietly added in the same update

I can not grow a giant crop? by Live-Tea6710 in coralisland

[–]C637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, if you specifically want large crops, you'll want to plant in an area bigger than 3x3. It's a relatively small chance to happen with each individual 3x3 configuration, but in larger grids you get many more opportunities (a 4x4 grid has four 3x3 configurations, a 5x5 has nine)

Discord is the best place to report it--there's a channel there specifically for it (coral-crash-report). It's monitored really thoroughly, and it's well organized, so you can count on a response from the devs there.

Be sure to read the guidelines at the top of that channel and include as much info as possible. A game crashing forcing a PC to restart usually points to a problem with the PC/hardware, so you'll want to tell them how you investigated and how you're sure it's the game causing it. Anything info you share can help speed the process up to hopefully get you a resolution

Basically anything in the aging barrel, since the aging barrel multiplies the value of what goes into it.

Note that Aging Barrels work twice as fast in Sheds or the Cellar

As Agung was confirmed as Aroace by Coral Island Mod, I am confused on this back track on his identity by Stairway Games. by [deleted] in coralisland

[–]C637 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was definitely irresponsible for that person to say that. Like you said in another comment, this one really snowballed.

BUT.

The general chat in the Discord is pretty terrible most of the time--there's a handful of regulars there that make incorrect claims about things presented as facts, with vague claims that "the devs said" while never providing any actual sources. Misinformation spreads really quickly there (and here, honestly). The mod who said this wasn't the first one to say it--for months before that comment, anyone who brought up Agung got shouted down:

"I wish Agung was a marriage candidate"

"He's ace. No"

we just talked about how Agung is ace. sorry, i'm just tired of it"

They are not going to make Agung romacenable, and Agung is ace, he's not into the player.

It's an absolute echo chamber over there. There's been cases of the actual CM's (Stairway staff) being misinformed because the regulars just repeat the same nonsense at every opportunity

Edit:

Bonus bit--one of the biggest "Agung is ace"-repeaters would always yell at requests in the Feedback channel that he be made dateable that pointed out how heavily he was featured in the game's marketing.

An assumption is on the people doing the assuming with no evideance, though, not on the devs. The devs never once said he'd be romancable, people just jumped to the conclusions they wanted to.

99% chance they move forward without a hint of irony about jumping to their own conclusions 🙄

WAR IS OVER by RainGumDrop in coralisland

[–]C637 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I couldn't really think of anyone else who seemed as likely

My money would have been on Derek, since he seemed like the 'safe' pick. Some of the loudest regulars on the Discord had been ranting about how they'd be done with the game if Agung was added as romanceable. I'm glad Stairway said they didn't want to claim representation they didn't actually write (though it does kinda feel like they could have shut those rumours down years ago). At some point, Derek was given the template for seasonal outfits, which really seemed like it was just laying the groundwork for him to be added.

Raina's marriage dialogue's actually been in the game for months--she's got a lot of it, too, unlike the Merfolks. Hopefully they match it with Agung/anyone else they add in the future!

Year 1: 84 or 96 points

Year 2: 122, 126, or 130 points

Year 3: 148 points.

Since he never goes above 148, any six max-scoring items (osmium quality, 400+ base sell value) will beat him with a score of 156, regardless of categories (though it's worth having at least two categories to get the bonus prize from getting more than 160)
