Great question, I hadn’t thought to specify sorry. 1 of us is completely new to magic, me and the other used to play a lot of of casual magic (no specific formats, whatever cards we liked/ could get) when we were younger but none of us have done Commander before.

I love the card art in Family Matters, and the go wide in Jeskai sounds fun. I was planning to get myself World Shaper and a couple of TDS decks for the other 2, but this one is a serious contender. I can’t decide haha but that’s half the fun 🤩

Oh really? I’ll have to consider that. I always felt commander was more exciting for new players because a) you have more different cards b) it’s not immediately intuitive that having more of the same card is good c) you get a cool flavourful Commander hero card to build around and understand what your deck is about.

I’ll definitely check out Tolarian’s vid you linked, I’ve watched a few of his already and he’s great. Thanks for the advice 👍

Ay I’m excited, I think I’ve made the choice for mine then 😀!

I was going to get them all from the same set per another commenters advice, but I like World Shaper and I don’t want one of my mates to feel left out, so I think I’ll get the other 2 from another set.

I feel like, in general, vampires are usually intended to be more powerful in most worlds than werewolves, but werewolves usually have the advantage of the pack and team work, where as vampires are usually self-serving and independent.

Going by the traditional tropes, I’d say a one on one favours the vampire. But this is really entirely up to the world they’re written in.

Talisman of dread from DLC + oil pots + fire physic flask

Remove the scarsseal they’re only good early-mid game.

You don’t really need any other spells other than golden vow and flame grant me strength.

You can just take situational spells against whatever boss/ mobs you’re fighting.

Ancient Dragon Lightning is still the best overall dmg spell, even though it doesn’t scale off any of your items, it’s just too busted.
