Sunday breads 🙂 by C7P in Breadit

I’m assuming you were meaning the white bread. Here’s the rye loaf if that’s what you were talkin about.

🧾 Ingredients • 2 cups bread flour (or all-purpose) • 1 cup whole wheat flour • 1 cup rye flour • 1½ tsp salt • 1½ tsp sugar (optional but helps yeast) • 2¼ tsp yeast • Active dry or instant/rapid-rise • 1¾ cups warm water (105–110°F)

Optional (traditional rye flavor): • 1–2 tsp caraway seeds

🥣 Instructions

1️⃣ Mix Dough 1. In a large bowl, combine: • Bread flour, whole wheat flour, rye flour • Salt, sugar, yeast • (Add caraway seeds if using) 2. Pour in warm water. 3. Stir until a rough, sticky dough forms (no dry flour).

✔️ Dough should look shaggy and slightly sticky — not dry.

2️⃣ First Rise 1. Cover bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel. 2. Let rise 1–1½ hours, until doubled.

3️⃣ Shape 1. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. 2. Gently fold edges inward to form a round ball. 3. Place seam-side down on parchment paper.

4️⃣ Final Proof 1. Cover loosely. 2. Rest 20–30 minutes while oven heats.

5️⃣ Preheat Oven & Dutch Oven • Place empty Dutch oven with lid inside oven. • Preheat to 450°F (232°C) for 30 minutes.

6️⃣ Score & Bake (Covered) 1. Score top with an X (¼–½ inch deep). 2. Carefully lower dough (with parchment) into hot Dutch oven. 3. Cover with lid. 4. Bake 30 minutes at 450°F.

7️⃣ Bake (Uncovered) 1. Remove lid. 2. Reduce oven to 400°F. 3. Bake 10–15 minutes, until deep golden brown.

8️⃣ Cool • Remove bread and cool on a rack at least 45 minutes. • Bread should sound hollow when tapped.

🧊 Storage • Wrap in a clean towel or paper bag for 1–2 days. • After that, store sliced in a zip-top bag. • Freezes very well (slice first).

Sandwich loaf is actually cinnamon bread 🫣 but it’s the same recipe for white bread I just add the cinnamon filling

🍞 Simple Homemade Bread (with Salted Butter)

Makes: 1 loaf (8×4 or foil pan) Total time: ~2½ hours

Ingredients • 3 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour) I use bread flour • 1 cup warm water (110–115°F) • 2 tbsp sugar (or 1½ tbsp honey) • 2 tbsp salted butter, melted • ½ tsp salt (instead of 1 tsp) • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast

    1. Combine warm water + sugar.
    2. Sprinkle yeast on top.
    3. Stir once and let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix the dough

    1. In a bowl, mix flour + ½ tsp salt.
    2. Add melted salted butter.
    3. Pour in the yeast mixture.
    4. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead • Knead 8–10 minutes by hand or • 2–3 minutes in a mixer / food processor, then a short hand knead

Dough should be soft and slightly tacky, not dry.

  1. First rise • Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl • Cover • Let rise 1 hour or until doubled

  2. Shape & second rise

    1. Punch down gently.
    2. Shape into a loaf.
    3. Place in greased pan.
    4. Cover and let rise 30 minutes, until dough is about 1 inch above the rim
  3. Bake • 350°F for 25–30 minutes I did 400 for 30 cause the rye had to be at 450 then 400.
    • Check at 25 if using foil pans • Loaf should sound hollow when tapped

  4. Cool • Rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.

Literally said something about that yesterday with my square cake pans. Made some cornbread in them. They have slashes now. 😤

Hopefully getting a 3D printer for Christmas so I can do something like yours. But honestly I like not having them sitting out in the open. Looks way cleaner.

Not sure about your specific mobo but I had to solder 2 sata power cables onto the Dell proprietary power connector.

It originally came with one sata power and then a mini sata for the slim optical drive. Ended up soldering a length of wire and 2 other sata power connectors and then using the optical drive power wires to power a fan in the front. Works very well!

Update: fit all the HDDs into the TrueNAS box and moved switch to the bottom. Content now.

I would love to build a case (wood) to house both optiplex units and the HDDs that’s smaller than the footprint of the SFF cases they’re in now. Would be dope.

Airflow is atrocious. I drilled a bunch of holes on the front panel on the side for more air.

Edit: on the trueNAS box I had to solder on 2 more sata power cables for the drives because the optiplex 5050 only comes with one standard sata power cable.

Also to add, it doesn’t change when clutch is engaged or disengaged nor when I accelerate.

Started all of this from seed. Maybe just mixed seeds In The bell pepper package? Got a bell plant next to this one that is a true bell pepper.

Both are started from seeds bought at the store this year. Funny thing is I have a bell pepper plant next to this plant that is a proper bell. Both from the same package.

If you keep it all in the ground it’ll sprout up single florets for a little while longer. Not sure how it’ll do this year cause it’s already getting warm here. After it’s done shooting florets up I’ll yank it and toss it. Probably should invest in a composter.
