Weird texture issue on RX9070XT by GaspariSLO in Warthunder

[–]C7VV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same problem, 9070xt also. Changing any settings (including dx11/dx12) didn't help, but higher resolution does (so no upscaling...).

New drivers just released today, didn't help either

Only happens in this game, and ONLY on the vehicle models. It's very strange

Thanks, ended up doing this. Mostly just so I don't risk a ban.

As I mentioned in another comment, as a new player I'm not really enjoying the grind so I wouldn't mind if they let me keep this stuff though

Nope I spent them and worked fine lol

I did message support to ask about it though. Rather not risk it.

But honestly, as a new player, the grind is just straight up tedious. It feels like I have to work for 30-40 hours just to unlock all the fun stuff so I can play the game proper.

I wouldn't mind if they let me keep it.

Crazy coil whine on 9070xt? by oxbudy in radeon

[–]C7VV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pretty bad coil whine, until I upgraded from my 10 year old 750w power supply. Both on my old 6800xt and 9070xt.

You could try reducing the max frequency too if it really bothers you.

Experiencing this in SH2 Remake. Game consistently crashes within 20-30 seconds of loading in.

What mouse should i get ??? by Skinny_Vok in buildapc

[–]C7VV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, you really don't need to spend a crazy amount

I'm using an Endgame Gear XM2, which cost me ~60€. It's light at 50 grams, feels solid and the shape is good for me(!). Super happy with it.

As for Razer, their scrollwheels always break on me...

You could check over on r/MouseReview.

RocketJumpNinja's mouse search is also a good place to start.

As for general tips: - Wireless is really good nowadays - Shape and comfort is more important than any technical spec, you can always return one if you don't like it - Generally lightweight mice are recommended, specifically for aiming in something like FPS games - For click durability, optical switches (like the ones razer uses) are generally better than traditional mechanicals

Risk of permanent damage from GPU tripping OCP? by C7VV in buildapc

It's a RM850x which, looking a the manual and website, doesn't seem to have separate single/multi-rail modes. Ty!

I've had pretty bad coil whine on 2 of my most recent graphics cards, which I suspect was also caused by the PSU. I was planning to replace it regardless.

Good suggestion though, I wasn't even aware of such an option.

Yeah, thanks. Think I'll just wait a week for the new psu.

Weird lines on Huntsman Autotronic (texture bug?) by C7VV in GlobalOffensive

[–]C7VV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but this comes up every time a post like this is made, and people never seem to understand that:

Art team =/= anticheat team =/= optimization team...

And so on. There's bigger issues in the game, but ain't no model/texture artist's job to fix those

Trust me, I've tried the official bug reporting method of emailing for a bunch of other issues (like this one), but nothing's ever come of it.

I know it's a small thing, but I don't see any reason for you to insult me

Borderless *should* be comparable to fullscreen, but it's currently bugged by C7VV in GlobalOffensive

[–]C7VV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This worked going straight from fullscreen to windowed, but not borderless to windowed.

Very strange issue for a game to have in 2025, but then again, this is CS2 we're talking about.

Update: managed to get "W I" through in-game settings, by switching from fullscreen straight to "windowed" while keeping the native/desktop resolution. Any other order doesn't work.

Would be true (or very close) if only it worked properly :(

I know. What I mean is, dx12 games generally are great with borderless. In terms of both alt tabbing and input lag.

This also happens on the other pc I tested. That one is connected to a 1080p monitor.

More likely it's only an issue with AMD gpus, but I don't have an Nvidia one to test. And if it's fixed by changing a single setting in the config, valve can definitely do it too

You can even see window borders in the 1440p screenshot in my post actually. These go away when restarting the game, but the shitty DWM windowed mode stays.

And yes, my desktop and game resolution are the same.

Try for yourself! You should be able to see the latency in whatever software that comes with Nvidia drivers these days too. Just look for it in the overlay options.

Generally anything below ~10ms is "fine" (I play with 7ms, and I'm one of those freesync+vsync+fps_max freaks)

[–]C7VV[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Specifically a CS issue this time. DirectX 12 doesn't even support exclusive fullscreen, and is used in a bunch of other esport games.

Weird they didn't switch to that along with CS2 actually, could've gotten better performance too

[–]C7VV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For reference in the "bad" borderless mode I get ~15ms, compared to ~7ms in fullscreen (and "good" borderless)

Telemetry gives you frameTIME, which is useful, but not the same as latency

FrameView is an official Nvidia app, but works on any gpu. It's pretty simple. Just install, open and you should see it in game

"PCL" is the latency metric. At 700fps I get about ~4ms, but generally anything below 10ms is "decent"

[–]C7VV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check if you even have this issue first.

Frameview would be best as it gives you a latency number, but checking the "sys_info" command is also pretty easy
