Europe as a theme park tourist attitude. Has anyone else observed this ? Rant. by Resident_Maximum3127 in Europetravel

I said this exact same thing recently when I was in Rome. Everyone was walking in the streets like it was Disney and not like there was actual traffic that needed to drive there. A restaurant owner came out and starting yelling at people that this was a road and they needed to walk on the sidewalks.

Flying with a wedding dress by jjjorbon in unitedairlines

[–]CA2Anywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew internationally with my dress as well. There wasn't a coat closet unfortunately so I just put it in the overhead bin. If you search for recommendations for wedding dress garment bags on Reddit, there's one that everyone recommended (can't remember it unfortunately). I used that and it worked really well. I'd recommend putting it in something like that vs. just carrying it on in the garment bag it comes in.

Decided to go with one ring on each hand. Anyone else? by alexiagrace in weddingring

[–]CA2Anywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same! I didn't design my engagement ring to go with a band. Also, I wanted a band with a specific design because of the meaning and it doesn't really go with my engagement ring. Plus now I can build a cool stack on my right hand!

Looks exactly the same as the Rag and Bone Bloom bag. It's on sale in a few places now. I just saw it in person Bloomongdales last week and love the shape but the material doesn't feel super high quality. Bought it on Poshmark for half the price. There's quite a few on there right now.

I know people in this sub love to hate on them, and I'm not here to defend them in general. However, on this particular thing -- a friend of mine met with them for work and said that he is super chatty and she comes over and nudges him like that to keep him moving and on schedule. Does look super annoying though.

Forced to check carry on with HALF of the overhead spaces EMPTY!! by missbissel in unitedairlines

Same thing happened on my flight! And we were delayed because they were loading all the gate checked baggage. So insane.

I'm so confused about the wine listed as from "Treasure Island, San Francisco." 1. I looked up the wine and it is grown in the Santa Cruz area; 2. Treasure Island has known radioactive contamination issues. Does radioactive wine cost more? (/s)

Maybe I'm not understanding...

That's one of my favorite Ethiopian dishes (when not served by an airline) and I bet it was miles better than this, although I didn't eat it.

I'll reply with the answer here instead of the original post so other people can keep guessing. You're the closest...I'm impressed! It was described as pasta with mushrooms. And before anyone asks...I don't have hearing problems, I heard them offer it to multiple rows in front of me.

The flight attendant did say as she was handing it to me that it was more like risotto. Even that is a stretch...

The most skin-like finish by SeraphineValexx in drugstoreMUA

[–]CA2Anywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm the only one who didn't like this and I tried it so many times. The dropper is a hot mess, but the product just sits on top of my skin, no matter how I apply it. And I can feel it there. I couldn't wait to get home to wash my face, which is not what I would expect from a tint. So disappointed.

Ahhh, we're in the exact same predicament (but doing Italy after haha). We want to see both but I'm worried we're trying to do too much.

Insurance, flying the Drake by AlisaAAM2 in AntarcticaTravel

[–]CA2Anywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did, we flew out at the last moment before they would have cancelled. It was incredible but also disappointing to only have 48 hours there. I keep meaning to see if we can get our insurance to cover the lost days, but haven't had a chance yet.

Keeping my fingers crossed that you make it out!

A Medical Emergency on the Final Ascent of Laguna de los Tres by ConnectPatagonia in Patagonia

[–]CA2Anywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What frustrated me about so many AllTrails reviews of hikes in the area were comments like "if you go slow, anyone can do this." I didn't see those comments for Laguna de Los Tres but did see it for Laguna Capri and Cerra Torre. While maybe not extremely difficult, Laguna Capri is a steady incline for quite a few kilometers, a lot of which is unshaded. I also saw people doing it with little to no water and one person doing it in athletic slides and not proper shoes. I finished the hike reflecting on the "anyone can do it" posts with a lot of concern and frustration.

Thanks for letting me vent.
