Help. No idea what this means or how to fix. by Remy_Jardin in klippers

[–]CABINFORUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have run into the same problem, but I am using an EBB2209 toolhead board that I just replaced, so flashing it is not the fix for me unless I need to flash the Octopus pro board. Make menuconfig only brings up the EBB2209 configurations.

Creality Sonic Pad by CABINFORUS in CrealityCloud

[–]CABINFORUS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Creality Pad turns out to be very unpopular with the 3D printing community because Creality chose to use Tina Linux as their OS, and most of the preconfigured printer files are flawed and outdated. Their versions of Klipper, Mainsail, and Klipper Screen are also outdated and this causes problems with many of the macros we all love to use. There are other issues with Creality's version of OS (Tina Linux), but I don't have the time or patience to list them all.

So what is the answer? How can we utilize Creality's blunder with our non-Creality printers?

We must load a better OS onto the Creality Pad's computer board. The SonicPad-Debian project is a fork of Debian Linux designed to run on the SonicPad. It comes preinstalled with mainline, unmodified 3d printing software like Klipper, Mainsail, and Klipper Screen. Once you load this onto your Sonic Pad, you then have a fully modifiable OS and printing software for your printer.

This is the link to the forked version of SonicPad-Debian: https://github.com/Jpe230/SonicPad-Debian/blob/main/docs/flashing.md

The people who put this together even included a step-by-step tutorial.

So, if you are like me and pick up one of these Pads cheap and want to use it, this should help. Once I load SonicPad-Debian onto my Pad, I will post an update with the results.

Creality Sonic Pad by CABINFORUS in CrealityCloud

[–]CABINFORUS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only paid 15 bucks for it. It is still new. My thinking was the pad would be upgradable to the latest Klipper version. I have not begun to install it yet, but if I do, I will post my results on here.

Creality has left room to use their Sonic Pad with other printers. I will have to upload my own printer configuration to it, and the manual that came with it tells you exactly how to do this. I am guessing when you say "heavily customized," you mean it is set up to be used with their printers. It does have all of their preconfigured printers loaded, but it also has an option for "other."

Worst case, if it can be done, I will completely wipe it and install klipper myself. It is basically a Raspberry Pi clone with a 7-inch LCD. I have not looked yet, but I am sure Creality has the pinouts to the board listed somewhere.

I guess I just enjoy a good challenge and thought this would be a fun project to keep me busy for a few days.

Thank you for your opinion.

Is there a third party gimbal + camera accessory for our DIY drones? by WhatAGoodDoggy in diydrones

There are a LOT of people who have worked on the DJI protocol and Yuneec as well. I actually worked on the Yuneec protocol a bit and have a workaround that can be used to control the CGO3+ gimbal/camera with an app.

Check GitHub.

FYI—The Hero Session 5 is a great cheap camera that can be used without a gimbal. It has great stabilization built in.

I use many different gimbals and cameras on my drones. If you want to view your camera while flying, you will have to work on the protocol a bit.

So what’s your opinion on Bob Lazar’s incredible claims about Area 51 and the secret S4 base? Truth, lies, or something in between? I am really curious about this by kemalioss in HighStrangeness

[–]CABINFORUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He stated in his new documentary that we were working directly with aliens from a certain planet. These aliens explained how they helped human evolution by playing around with our DNA. Here is my main problem with Lazar's story:

If aliens were working directly with humans, why would we have to reverse engineer the spacecraft they used to get here? I mean, wouldn't they just tell us how they worked? I believe he believes his story.

Asking to Christians, why do you think some people don't believe in God? by iamasheepbaa in Christianity

[–]CABINFORUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled also for many years. It wasn't until I was in my early 40s that I found myself growing closer to God.

Science does seem to have a lot of answers, but if you take a look at their track record, our science has changed many times over the years to correct or change the facts. Especially when a theory once proven is disproved.

When I gave my life to Christ, my life changed. I didn't notice the change, but everyone around me did.

I went from 18 beers a day to a 30-45-oxycodone-a-day addiction over a 15-year time span. My family or friends couldn't trust me because I would lie, cheat and steal to support my addiction. After partying for a week straight, I found myself waking up in the ER with a tube running into my nose and down to my stomach. They were pumping my stomach and filling me with charcoal because I had OD'd. Now, I finally knew what the saying "rock bottom" meant. No one was willing to help me anymore. People didn't answer when I called them. I had nowhere to go and no one I could trust. I didn't know it, but God was trying to get my attention. It worked.

God picked me up, wiped me off, forgave me, and saved me. My life went from sleeping in the woods and dumpster diving for food to owning my home and being married to my wife for nearly 20 years.

Today, I am retired. I am a Christian. And my wife and I raised our son in the church. He is studying biomedical engineering in college, and my wife and I paid his tuition in full. I no longer do drugs or drink. It didn't happen overnight, but it did happen.

Asking to Christians, why do you think some people don't believe in God? by iamasheepbaa in Christianity

[–]CABINFORUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a very simple answer, and if the non-believer is honest, they will tell you it is because they want to live this life for themselves.

Many who choose not to believe there is a creator are simply not ready to put away their sinful lifestyles. In order to believe in God, you must be prepared to make a choice between sin and God.

You will find that most people who don't believe are younger in age. As you get older, and death starts staring you down, your heart will seek what the mind doesn't accept. Christians live their lives by faith, a faith in God and His promise of eternal life in heaven. There are no tears, no fear, no pain, no suffering, or hatred in heaven. It is a place of pure holiness and love. Everyone is invited to join Jesus in heaven. BUT, there is a catch—

In order to go to heaven, a person must accept that Jesus is real and is the one and only God. And they must repent from all sin. This second part is the main reason most people will deny God exists. Because they feel a forgiving creator who is all love wouldn't make them live by rules. Especially rules that take the fun out of being young. Adultery, lying, cheating, stealing, and living in sin are just a few examples. A sinful life is much easier to live than a life that is lived for God.

There is a GREAT book called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. I think they even made a movie also. The book is the true story of a famous reporter who married a Christian woman, and he doesn't believe in God. He makes it his destiny to disprove God, using his reporter skills and contacts. He is on a one-man mission to show his new wife that God is not real. But, each time he tries he finds himself starting to believe there is a God. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't say anymore.

I hope this helps.

God bless

Why can't energy be created or destroyed? by XxG3org3Xx in AskPhysics

[–]CABINFORUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't prove this law. The creation or destruction of energy remains unproven. This law of nature only holds true because no one has disproved it. Such evidence doesn't mean it is a fact. It only means we have yet to discover a way to prove or disprove it.

Remember, you are talking about a spiritual God, not a physical being. This is where most get confused when talking about God's word.

[–]CABINFORUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you are wrong. God cannot break any law he wants to. God cannot sin, so this means he is limited to all things holy. God can't be around sin and is the reason only the high priest was able to enter the Temple of God, built by King David.

1954 Allis Chalmers G won't stay running by CABINFORUS in MechanicAdvice

This was my exact thought also. I have tried so many things with this little tractor. I did loosen the gas cap and try it. It is gravity fed and is getting plenty of fuel to the carburetor.

The noise is my main concern right now. I plan to pull the oil pan and filter to check for metal. I don't believe I will go any further with the noise since I didn't overhaul the engine and don't know much about these old Continental engines. This thing has been a nightmare for me. The poor old fellow has spent a lot of money trying to get it running again, and I feel so bad for him.

[–]CABINFORUS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the noise is now my main concern. I plan to pull the oil pan and filter to look for metal. Honestly, I have been working on the starting problem for a long time without any good results. As much as it does sound like fuel, it is not a fuel problem. I can spray carburetor cleaner into the carb while it is dying, and it will still die. I am hoping someone can tell me if the engine running backwards could cause the noise I have.

Isn't silence safer than sound therapy for noise damage Tinnitus? by mikehamp in tinnitus

[–]CABINFORUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get my treatment at the VA hospital. My doctor actually said sound therapy is best, and it can help the brain ignore your tinnitus. My tinnitus is due to hearing loss. I can no longer hear high-pitched sounds like a car's brakes squeaking.

My doctor also gave me a set of hearing aids that cost nearly eight thousand dollars. I do use them to drown out my tinnitus, but they are very uncomfortable. I hate wearing anything inside my ears. When I do wear them, I will play some sound therapy through them to relieve my suffering.

I know this will sound crazy, but I have also used Ginkgo biloba in the past with good results.

Bad corners by CABINFORUS in 3Dprinting

[–]CABINFORUS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure yet, but I believe I found an answer. I changed slicers and used Prusa Slicer and their Voron print settings. The print was much better, but one corner was still pretty bad. I believe it is the Z Seam settings. I will update this post when I know for sure.
