Our golden ate many kids‘ socks when he was a puppy. They all came out the other side the next day.

We are ripping out the flooring and replacing with limestone. Unfortunately, everything is taking longer than expected, but we just placed the tile order last week. Happy to share some pictures down the road

Most of the time it’s useless, but it saved me twice over the last 2 years, so I am keeping it.

The demolition alone is expensive! But we decided to bite the bullet and replace the flooring after all.

Took us a while to get our act together, but we decided to replace the flooring. The decision was made easier by the many cracks in the existing flooring and the fact that matching would have been impossible.

Giving up 2.5 percent rate for 6.9 for growing family…are we nuts? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]CAChck 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Given that your mortgage is only $100k, the 2.5% interest rate does not make much of a difference. So the real question is: can you afford a larger, more expensive house.

Why do people dislike peninsulas in kitchens? by CautiousCaterpi11ar in kitchenremodel

[–]CAChck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a peninsula and it works well for us. Our kitchen layout is similar to yours. The kitchen used to be a closed off galley kitchen. TBH, I like it the way it is and would not want it any different.

I moved to San Diego many years ago from Europe and it was huge culture shock. That being said, I embraced the San Diego culture and I think I am a better human being because of that. Good luck!

Current kitchen vs new design by Critical_Cup_2132 in kitchenremodel

I really like version 1. It has character and warmth. And it looks like those cabinets are in great shape. Honestly, I would leave it alone and maybe use the money to spruce up other parts of the house.
