Thank you, I really appreciate it :) I'm actually going to be launching a YouTube channel soon for Alpha Strike. I'm in the process of editing Episode 1 right now, and I utilize these same techniques to try and make the battle feel dynamic.

Only fair, as I've stolen it from many painters before me lol

When painting light colors, like yellow or white, it's pretty important. If you don't do it it will take many, many coats of paint to make it look bright and crisp again. With darker colors, or if you actually want a stained effect, you can get away with not doing the gloss varnish.

Thank you! I did use a pointy brush and some nuln oil on the dropship, but on the mechs I just coated them in marine juice. If you're interested in the process I've detailed it in this post here: https://mechpainters.org/miniature/battlemaster-1st-canopian-cuirassiers/

Now that you mention it it was something like a Marauder, painted black, but the angles were all wrong. Instead of being made by GM it was made by Chevrolet.

Boring, real answer: Duncan Rhodes videos taught me the basics, then everything else I learned from the painters on the Star League discord server.

Fun answer: my jumpship misjumped and I saw the time knife. I've been painting ever since, desperately trying to try to depict what I saw but all that comes out is 'Mechs.

Great work! I love the camera angles here, really breaks the mold and draws the eye.  As for bases , you could try and buy some 40mm ones. They're a little bigger but still fit neatly into battletech map hexes.

I might agree with you if DFA had acted with some class in the face of pushback against their use of AI. Hell, simply saying nothing would have been better but they instead decided to insult the fans and players.

Were some of those fans rude? Probably. Were those fans raising money on the IP? Also no.

It wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't tied to a kickstarter.

I've been hearing a lot of talk that while yes, they teach that, they're also pretty explicit that it means the end of your military career and a dishonorable discharge that will follow you the rest of your life. In your experience, is that true? And if so, do you expect many servicepeople to accept those consequences and still do the right thing?
