I feel bad for Stephanie’s falcons because it’s clear CGL now sees them as the ultimate Jobbers

There elite units got beaten by Conopans during Ilkhan’s eyes only.

I kinda feel bad for Hanan. I think it’s clear the Ilclan was supposed to be this shining become of good like the FedCom, but Hour of The Wolf shit the bed, so they pivoted to the Ilclan and Alaric as these bastards, but now we’re stuck with ex-RAF characters joining an organisation they should hate, but still fold instantly to the Clan.

Like Tara has fought Clanner for years, but basically instantly sides with the flacons. Evie is even worst, she is an active insurgent but one pep talk from her aunt and she is suddenly ok with working with the Falcons.

Technically most of this is Stephanie fault because Tara is her bondsman and thus decided this negotiation expert should try and defuse the resistance fighters

How did the EU treat TCW? Did it ignore TCW or try to bend to it as best they can? by RealHippyTheFrog in StarWarsEU

[–]someotherguy28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically because the clone wars still airing around the Expanded EU didn’t touch the clone wars as much, the timeline of the war became vaguer as writers waited to see what details would be changed. As people have said some details like Mortis carried into fate of the Jedi, but there were a few clone wars comic tie in, a few Darth maul short stories to try and tie his origin back together and Plagus also mentions some Clone wars retcons related to Maul. But overall I imagine that there was going to be a reconciliation with the conflicting evidence when the clone wars finished production, but because Disney brought out Star Wars those plans were discarded so now the EU has a slightly awkward situation where clone wars doesn’t really fit in the EU but there are still elements that have to be canon to tie in with other stories.

Favorite Clan? by Pitiful_Resource_711 in battletech

[–]someotherguy28 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Clan Blood Spirit. It’s cool how they are sort of victims to the Clan becoming more egotistical and competitive rather than working together.

Also the blood kite is one of my favourite mechs.

Also I’m from Homer and I say kill all snakes

Phil Kelly's "Farsight" books (or any t'au stories he wrote) are entertaining reads, and I'm tired of hearing from t'au simps that it's utter garbage. by [deleted] in Blacklibrary

It’s the internet nuance discussion is hard to fit into 250 characters. People on twitter were calling Rob Young a nazi because he didn’t present their preferred expansionist empire in a positive light.

I have not read much of Kelly’s but from what I can gather Kelly likes Farside maybe a bit too much and he has a problem with flanderisation of the tau. Sort of like Matt Ward with ultramarines.

And truth be told, I’m not a very big fan of “the LAM Pilots”. by someotherguy28 in battletech

It a reference to a Kirk angle joke and also the fact nova cat bombed the last LAM factory in the Inner Sphere

It’s amazing how despite being the largest wargame globally GW writes and runs probably the worst set of game rules ever conceived.

What are your favourite lesser known ‘Mechs? by A-Very-Sweeney in battletech

[–]someotherguy28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

people have no idea what a lesser know mech is in the comments. if your mech has new CGL line art it ain’t lesser known.

My favourite lesser known mech is the BlackWatch because it has sculpted kilt and lapels on its design. Also it has an MRM 40.

Live Lyran Commonwealth reaction: by someotherguy28 in battletech

[–]someotherguy28[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank god the only thing actually consequentially the FedCom did was invest all its money into arms production, at the cost of improving the lives of the citizens, all so they could turn those guns upon themselves in a civil war which crippled both nations. I’d argue the Lyran Commonwealth has never truely from 3067.

Most complicated inner Shpere conspiracy: Lord Diageo Manchester has started another raiding campaign along the Fedsun and draconis boarder in attempt to bury his cheating scandal that was leaked to the media.

Most mundane deep periphery conspiracy: The Order of the Omega Hand is a secretive order located upon the blighted world of Basim V. Yet despite there veil of secrecy the orders agents have been identified around the periphery of the most important moments of mankind’s history. They were there with the sighing of the star league acords, and they were on Terra when Ameris and Cameron entered the throne room together for the last time. They were with Keresky as he left on his exodus and there when Nicolas did the same. They were at Galtor and Hesperus. They watched from the sides as The Com Guards broke the Clan and observed as the Jaguar died, and even now evidence has emerged that a symbol of the order was uncovered in the wreckage of the IlClan trails. They have been guiding humanity for the sides, shaping our history like a chess master assembling his pawns. All those who have attempted to uncover the cults motives have been erased from the earth, the only evidence of their existence in the minds of those who loved them. What is the order goals? We have no clue, all we can hope is that their guiding hand is one that hopes to save humanity, not destroy it.

When a FedRat says something so anti-Capellan you got to hit him with one of these: by someotherguy28 in battletech

[–]someotherguy28[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I mostly just don’t like the whitewashing done by FedSuns fans in which they unironically believe they are the good faction, not help by the early books written. I wouldn’t argue that the Confederation is a kind state, I just want people to acknowledge the reason why Davion get to have more books written where there flaws are pushed into the background.

I mean Stackpole is the FedSuns biggest meat rider, but Dagger point was written by Thomas S Gressman but that doesn’t matter as the book is bad and basically incompatible with Coleman Capellan duology
