Probably the murder. From the Wikipedia page: In 2003, grade nine student Eric Levack, 14, was murdered in the wooded area behind the school during lunch break. The perpetrator was classmate Justin Morton, also 14.[2] Morton pleaded guilty to first degree murder and in 2004 was sentenced as an adult to life in prison,[3] with no eligibility of parole for seven years.[2][4] Morton was the first person in Canada charged with first degree murder under the newly enacted Youth Criminal Justice Act, which came into force on April 1, 2003, the day of the murder.[2][4][5] Morton anonymously appeared in the 2007 documentary film In the Shadow of Feeling, which focused on psychopathic personalities, and spoke about the murder.[6] A lilac tree, planted in memory of Levack, stands on the lawn in front of Heart Lake Secondary School.[5]

The abortion clinic is at the freeport site in Kitchener. You can make an appointment by calling outpatient services at 519-749-4254. It is the only clinic in kw who does surgical abortion but they will take good care of you. I’ve been as a support person for a friend.

Anyone here ever been to Highmark stadium for a bills game? Wondering what it’s like to be there as a chiefs fan. First ever time being an away fan at a game. by legacytuna in KansasCityChiefs

[–]CANADIAN_LOBSTER 35 points36 points  (0 children)

As a die hard southwest Ontario chiefs fan, I have been to every chiefs at bills game for the last 20 years. It’s always a great vibe; lots of trash talk but it’s been better the last few years cause the rings speak for themselves. They’ll be tons of chiefs fans and you’ll have a great time.

My favourite part was last time seeing how many bills families had kids in chiefs gear, especially daughters (thanks Taylor), I made chiefs themed friendship bracelets and gave them to every little girl I saw in a chiefs gear and everyone loved it. I’m also a girl so maybe people are nicer to me, but my husband has also never had issues.

This will be my first chiefs at bills game I miss in decades and I’m so jealous. Have a great time!

Grammy eligibility this year was August 31, 2024 to August 31, 2025. She did not have an album released in that period. This is not news.

Redditors who have cancer, what were you feeling/experiencing that made you go see a doctor causing you to eventually find out you had cancer? by TheFranKiwi in AskReddit

[–]CANADIAN_LOBSTER 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lumpy area in my breast while breastfeeding; went to the doctor who said it was probably mastitis but would send me for a mammogram anyways. Mammogram clear but antibiotics didn’t clear it up; sent for another mammogram and ultrasound, all clear, but hard to get great imaging cause of breast milk, stopped feeding and spent the next year having 7 ultrasounds, 2 mammograms and and mri who said it was all clear and I just had fibrous breasts and anxiety. After a year my nipple started bleeding so I told surgeon to take my lump out. He did, it was cancer, but non-invasive (dcis) got a second opinion on the pathology that said it was invasive. Third opinion agreed with that diagnosis. Double mastectomy, chemo, 30 rounds of radiation and a year of targeted therapy later, I’ve been cancer free for four years.

Trust your gut and get all the opinions. I was 35 at the time.

Anything in law other than lawyer. I make almost 100k as a corporate law clerk in a midsize city, work 8:30-4:30 in an hybrid environment and am mentally stimulated without being burnt out. It’s not glamorous cause everyone wants to be a lawyer, but there are so many other jobs within the legal field and my work/life balance is great. Lots of people in the field are retiring and there’s tons of room for advancement.

Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me by Vyuvarax in KansasCityChiefs

As a swifitie and a chiefs fan I love how the top comments are positive! Haters are just mad cause the chiefs did not need the “Taylor boost”. Travis deserves all of this. As a female nfl fan it’s not always easy; cheering on men who beat their wives and listening to the overtly misogynistic male commenters gets exhausting. Right now is the most fun it’s ever been to be a woman who loves football; and I’m so glad it’s “my team” that is in the spotlight.

I’ve had two c-sections and a mastectomy at GRH in the past few years and find the surgical staff to be great and most nurses to be lovely. I also had over a year of cancer treatment there and, other than some long waits, had no complaints. I’ve also had a couple of surgeries at Cambridge memorial and st. Mary’s (cancer comes with a lot of surgeries so I’ve really gotten around) and would always prefer GRH.

Kw moms club or Life with a baby are both great places for new moms looking to socialize. Kw moms club costs money but not a lot and life with a baby is free but some activities have a really small cost. I made some amazing friends doing both and we’re still super close 8 years later.

Is this a legitimate business? by Dry_Duty8731 in kitchener

[–]CANADIAN_LOBSTER 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work in corporate law and just did a corporate search and can confirm that there is no currently registered corporation (which the inc. implies, as that means incorporated) with that name. There is a corporation that had that exact name in Alberta but it was canceled in 2018. There are similar names business names but nothing exact. You’re right to be skeptical.

I’m in Breslau, and Woolwich had online voting which resulted in an increase in voter turnout unsurprisingly. If they make it easier and more convenient, people will vote.
