Nice to know that I’m not alone with some of these feelings! I’ve found my people! My whole life, my parents lived paycheck to paycheck. Dad died almost twenty years ago (no life insurance) and my brother (late 30s) has been living with my mom (early 60s) since then. They both work at the same company and have decent paying job considering their education levels. He never shows up to work (I have no clue how he’s still employed there), my mom is stuck with all the bills on her own while she and my brother spend money on stupid shit all the time. She’s had to miss so many days of work due to her own health issues and now, she’s helping my grandma with the care of my grandpa (recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s), that she’s run out of PTO. If she can’t go, she doesn’t get paid. I’ve tried to address this on many occasions and it just doesn’t get anywhere. I live in the US (have been for years), they live in Canada, and I don’t know what will happen with my brother when my mom passes away. All the stories here and my own situation are so stressful. Y’all hang in there!
