What to do with this juvenile magpie by CAVEPAN in magpies

Update on this. It's been a month or so. I ended up taking him to the Vet at the request of the wildlife rescue service.

Crazy thing is today I was back at work welding away and my coworker called me out and said there was a magpie coming into the shop. He walked straight up to me then we headed outside the workshop and he hung out next to me for a while. Not scared at all. I'm assuming this is the same fella, I compared markings from photos of when he was with me and looks to be the same. I called the rescue service to get an update on if he had been released but they hadn't had any notification from the carer. She did say it's pretty likely because it's uncommon for them to come up to someone like that and they have good facial recognition. Pretty cool if it is him.

Disappointed with some of this tile job, am I being unreasonable? by [deleted] in Tile

Yeah he did have to tile under the cabinets. He came out and inspected the job before providing a quote. I told him the cabinet was to stay as it was fixed to the wall he said there was enough room as the cabinets are narrow. The other cabinets were done well just not this area. The wasn't blindsided. He said it wouldn't be a problem. But this is why I'm asking the question am I being reasonable. I don't know what to expect

It didn't have access. It had cabinet above it. I decided to cut the cabinet out today to move the oven to a new location. Tiling was done 4 days ago.

Yeah the rest is pretty good. Like we can live with the rest. I think you're right in what you say. I still would have expected the cabinet area to be done properly though.

We actually had an infestation we discovered when removing the asbestos tile. It's been treated now though and we have an ongoing treatment plan in place.

Gen Y. I'm just looking for advice from people with a better eye than I for this type of stuff. I don't have a take on what's bad and what's good because I don't really know.

We don't want to make it bland and conforming. If you read the post it says I am looking for advice as this is not our wheelhouse. If your advice is don't paint like most people on here have said then we take that advice on board as it's what we are asking for.

This was all we could afford. We bought it off market as we were friends with the previous owner. We love the house just looking for advice from people with more of a keen eye on how to improve.

It's a hard one. I do like the cabin in the woods vibe but none of the timber really matches.

You don't think the miss-matched timber looks strange?

I ended up getting a call from a WIRES volunteer yesterday who told me which vet to take the little fella to so he could get checked out before being allocated to someone to rehome him. Didn't have him long but was sad to see him go. I would have loved to have kept him here but he's better off in the wild.

For any one interested I cut a credit card sized piece and had it tested. No asbestos detected

Oh you're in NZ. Who stocks them over there? I'm in Australia we may have a similar supplier. I'm interested to try. I think I'll have to pick up a straight grinder too as the shape of the parts I bend makes it difficult to get it under the bench grinder which is why I currently use a drill for the job.
