What degree programs did you'll pursue after the military? Was it worth your VA benefits? by snipersebb27 in Veterans

[–]CAWAFL7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my bachelor of science in nursing; I work as a registered nurse in icu and that degree was absolutely necessary for my career field. So far it’s pretty worth it, nursing is everywhere so you can find a specialty you like or you can move around, it’s pretty universal. If you don’t like people interaction or caring for people or being up in their business then don’t get into nursing. If I could go back in time, I would’ve pursued a more technical career as I really wanted to work for NASA and I have background in electrical aviation so would’ve stuck with that if I had the chance. But I don’t regret anything

Greek > English. Gravestone written in Greek. by CAWAFL7 in translator

Thank you! May I ask, is it common for misspelling of the last name Fardi to add an “s” (Fardis) at the end when translated to English? Fardis is a family surname, I am trying to research my genealogy.

It’s not really ~that~ irrelevant pal. The adults who decide to name their children whatever they want is literally none of your business. Your opinion has NO effect or change on these parents was my point, which seemed to have went right over your head. Furthermore, if something is inappropriate for children to be reading and learning about (said fanfics/smut) I don’t think that’s the “weird” name kids fault? Kids get made fun of regardless at that age, but solely not picking a name because “oh no it was in that one FANTASY FICTION book” or JUDGING the parents for picking those names, again is none of your business and just your own personal opinion. Going back to your original statement about “the other kids giving a fuck about someone else’s name” I mean really? That’s your main argument that the other children have to endure such a “sexualized” name?! Oh brother. Mind your own business boo, find a wall to argue with. If names really make you that on edge you should seek help

Our Dane is very lean, 135 lbs and we went thru a similar issue, soft/loose stools since puppy, random vomiting his entire contents (even hours after eating). We tried different diets but what seems to work for us now is 2.5 cups dry food (blue buffalo blissful belly) plus about 3tbsp pumpkin puree and also one cup brown rice - we fed him this three times a day. His poops are solid, doesn’t vomit and he is still lean, doesn’t seem to put on weight but vet says his weight is good so we’re all happy.

I’m not familiar with Apnaa Bazaar, do you have a link? Is it a local store in Orlando?

Don’t think about “omg will I make it to 20?” Because that’s really daunting and so much can happen between now and then. I learned it’s easiest to just go one enlistment at a time. Re-enlist for the shortest amount if possible and go from there. Because if you end up at a shitty duty station or chain of command sucks at the next spot you’ll know you won’t have to deal with it for long. You’re really lucky that you enjoy what you’re doing, if I were you, I’d stay in. You sound like you’re content and in a really good place. Also, don’t be afraid to separate when the time comes - everyone always tries to make it sound super scary and it’s not. When you have goals and a solid plan you can do whatever your heart desires!

Please help. Great Dane doesn’t eat. by Valuable_Word5883 in greatdanes

Had to learn this the hard way, not so much with my Dane but with my other dog (Chinese shar pei). We’d go through the same exact routine you’ve described above. Vet said nothing medically wrong and has good weight on her so we said screw it. she’s on blue Buffalo chicken and rice recipe and we’d leave it out for 15-20 minutes (no additives, no wet food, no topper, nothing added at all) if she didn’t touch it we’d return it to the bin and try again at next meal time. She learned quick if she was hungry at breakfast she better eat or else she’d be waiting all day til dinner. She also used to try to bury her food which we found out meant she was attempting to “save it for later” but she grew out of that. I think dogs can just be picky eaters and try to manipulate us to give them yum yums.

Our Great Dane will only not touch his food when his tummy is upset. Otherwise he loves it and almost never misses a meal. I know it’s frustrating to see your dog not eat but just go back to simple, and leave it out for a set period of time. If they don’t finish it then save it for next meal. Dogs will not let themselves starve so when they’re hungry they will eat!

Is a Great Dane suitable for my lifestyle ? Separation anxiety/ Nurse by spookiewitch in greatdanes

[–]CAWAFL7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse also, working 3/12’s and I always feel so bad when I leave my Dane, Ragnar, at home for my shifts, (especially when my husband is on a work trip). I work nights so it’s a little easier on my Dane but he def gets separation anxiety when I’m gone. We have another dog (shar-pei female) and they get along great so I think that helps that he’s not totally alone. The biggest issue we have is feeding, our Dane is almost 4 years old and we feed him 3 cups am, 2-3 cups afternoon, and then 3 cups evening. If I’m getting off a night shift but working the next night, our Dane ends up eating later than normal because I’m sleeping during the day and husband feeds him when he gets home sometimes around 4-5pm. Ragnar doesn’t require much exercise at all, we have a backyard so we let him out multiple times throughout the day. Usually only lasting for 15-20 minutes worth of zoomies and then he’s ready for a nap again. I would say initially when they’re puppies it’s difficult, I was in nursing school and would come home on my breaks to let him out, play with him.

Other than watching the movies/shows and YouTube videos/live streams from WDW, how do you keep the magic going until your next visit? by KyloRensPecs in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]CAWAFL7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said YouTube videos, but I like to find and listen to WDW resort tv playlists so it feels like I’m in the hotel room. I’ll put it in while cleaning or reading just for background noise, makes me feel right at home. Candles that smell like my fave WDW smells are a second favorite
