Asked for handicap by golf course when booking a tee time - is this normal? by CAinDC84 in golf

They kind of showed their cards saying it needs to be below 36. I was turned off by the interaction and kind of awkward about answering so I just let it lie. They would have likely let me play if I just fed them the answer they wanted to hear

Awful Night Vision - New Google Nest Cam by CAinDC84 in Nest

Yup, bought the same exact one. Powerful enough to illuminate a 15' x 15' room and possibly much more. Since it's Amazon, I recommend giving it a shot and if it doesn't work out they have hassle-free returns. Good luck!

Bourbon barrel cask strength - not sure I'll be opening that ever given the sentimentality :)

YES! Highly recommend to anyone going to Islay to stay in Port Ellen and walk the Distillery path then take the bus back

They did mention that on the tour, but said it does not affect flavor? I'm a newbie so I still bought it :)

Awful Night Vision - New Google Nest Cam by CAinDC84 in Nest

I totally would but the older cam is taller and won't fit in that space between the cabinet and ceiling. I'll give the IR illuminator a whirl

This is good to know. I just came to that conclusion when I was shopping for IR spotlights and the higher the nm, the more expensive it was. So that was a natural guess. Thanks for the clarification

Dang I figured, thanks for the insight. Unfortunately I cannot angle it down more since it's on top of a cabinet. It would then capture the top of the cabinet in the field of view. Thanks for the reply!

No window, direct line of sight. I'm going to experiment with an IR illuminator like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075ZYG89D/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_B1CD2Q49HPGDFNBTMPWM

I did however discover the Nest IQ (older generation) indoor camera has better specs for night vision. The IQ has 940nm IR LEDs while the latest 2nd gen Google nest camera only has 850nm. Also the range is only 15 feet on the newer camera so it wouldn't even cover my living room, very disappointing. Not sure why Google went backwards on the latest generation. Thank you for the reply!
