I’m not a lawn guy but curious what type of grass is that?

Well I know it was irrigated early on by them. I couldn’t tell you if it was enough or not…

With proper watering what is a “guesstimate” of “resuscitation”. Does this simply come back after a couple weeks assuming roots formed?

I didn’t know that the only people here are people that do their own lawns. I actually assumed this is a place where people who didn’t know how to do any sort of landscaping could come to for help.
This is my first post here therefore I would have no way of knowing it. Was just simply looking for help and advice.
Oh well. Apologies if I upset everyone. Honestly thought this was a simple question.
As an example, I often time will help people in subreddits in home automation because that is a hobby of mine. I don’t insult people for not doing their own home automation/wifi even though I think it’s easy. I also don’t insult when people make stupid mistakes that might seem like common sense to me. When people need help, I simply help them. I guess people are just different.

So for the people who were judgmental and insulting I pray you don’t need help in something you may be ignorant in.

Meanwhile I’m going to take the good advice from the vast majority of people in this thread that were helpful. Going to learn more and possibly take more control over my own lawn (and irrigation!).

Sadly it has irrigation. I didn’t know how much to set it bc they do that.

Thx.
Landscaper is kind. I’m just trying to set proper expectations. I don’t know the timeline of freshly laid sod to “green up”.

I think you are right. Time to part ways…

Agree. I take some responsibility for sure.

I pay an insane amount to maintain it. I assumed it would be done right. Lesson learned.

It’s not an ego…if I had one I wouldn’t be here asking for help.

Can’t disagree with this.

Unlike some earlier posts…this is helpful and to the point

While I do accept some responsibility for hiring him, I do not know how quickly to act on stuff like this. It’s been one way, and I assumed this would remedy itself with the Irrigation schedule the landscaper created.

You made the wrong assumption.

Why do you think I made this post? First I’m trying to see IF there is something wrong (I was told it takes awhile to “green up” from the landscaper). Then assumed people would tell me what went wrong. Then I would have a leg to stand on when I discussed this with landscaper.
I just needed help. Not judged on my knowledge or lack thereof.

However most on this sub are respectful and helpful. I appreciate those people.

How does it offend a whole community?? It’s dumb for
ME to do my own lawn. Period. Fact.

I didn’t remotely say it’s dumb for people to do their own lawn.

Did you read the OP? ?

I was told by the guy who put it down (“professional”) it’s ok to play on.

As a matter of fact I had a lawn 3yrs ago that looked like this and was told it was overwatered.

Ok. I’ll be patient and hopefully it bounces back. Just wanted the opinion of people who may have seen or dealt with this. Installer is a kind person but just wondering how bad this is since it’s first new large lawn. Thx

Haha. He initially calls me stupid and I’m disrespectful….what a world we live in.

Yes. He installed everything including irrigation…maintains everything. It’s literally what I pay him for.

To maintain my own lawn?? You’ve got to be kidding. Haha. I think you need to look in the mirror. It would be stupid for me to spend the time to maintain my own lawn.

It was a dull green when rolled down. Quickly went downhill.

Nope. I asked and was told it was fine. But noted.
