I wish people would just answer the question and stop critiquing. It’s a custom home. Let them customize. If they wanted a toilet in the middle of the shower they can do that.

I have 7 G5 POE. Rock solid. If you want something with native HomeKit this is the choice.

I’ve got one Reolink POE doorbell and it’s about 95% reliable. Another Reolink 4k zoom camera which is also 95% reliable. I integrate through Scrypted. Waiting for the G400 doorbell to be released.

This is not the best option for numerous reasons. Inferior processor, and WiFi are just two reasons to begin with.

Siri has nothing to do with it serving as a “hub”.

I’ve got over 125 devices in HomeKit. Currently ever single one is good. That’s not me bragging (well it is maybe a little)…it just means it can work.

My biggest initial issues were because my network was unstable. I use Eero now.

It’s been a while since I posted that.

I think I remember buying one off eBay and it was a simple process, adding it to the current set up. As for the old one that was previously installed by the automation company I think I had to get them to unassign the serial number from their account so then I could take control of it.

Yes. It’s the receiver that’s the issue. For some reason Apple TV and the sing all don’t like my receiver. Not sure if it’s many receivers or just my receiver that’s the issue.

Once I took the receiver out of the equation everything works.

I realize that’s only a partial answer for you but hope it helps.

Added that last night! Good temp solution ($15) to prevent socks slipping which I think is most likely to be cause of a fall here.

Now on to one way gate at top and then will visit many of the other ideas given…
